Are you joking? Yes, that was exactly the train of thought and the goal the americans were after. They wanted Canada to give up its sovereignty over its airspace, so we caved and (bent over backwards) didn't say yes to missle defence. Because everyone knows, we sure wanted to join that program, but pussied out. |

i have nothing against canada; however being born in europe i feel that this country is not for me. as soon as i graduate college :toothless i' moving back to UK or other european country for that matter.
canada is a great country guys, but if you prefer european style of living, if you feel european, you will feel in canada, more like in the states than in europe. nothing against it, just not my thing ;) |

I think that if canada applied for a membership, the EU would not neglect it. Many (EU) politicians have said that as long as countries agrees with what the EU stands for, they are welcome to join, no matter where in the world they are. |

Actually part of the EU is already in south america ;)
Map of the world with EU countries in green, French Guiana as a part of France is in south america and since it is also part of france it is part of the EU ;)

| i dont consider it a seperate nation... its a protectorate of france or something to that nature... just like puerto rico and guam are part of the US but aren't part of the contiguous 48 states are aren't themselves considered states |

well its EU territory in south america still ;) but ya i get what you are saying but i seriously dont think it would be a canada to join the EU, perhaps they would change their name i donno, it happend before but if canada want to be part of europe then they can :) |
