out of the listed djs above - i'd consider marco v and mark norman perhaps to be tech trance djs

but i havent listened to a marco v set in a while so i'm not sure what he's like lately

Marco V plays a lot of prog currently anyway, though he is probably still the 'techiest' of the major trance Djs. I think of tech trance as coming from the techno end of the scale so more trancey techno than techy trance.. I really like Mojado stuff but imo it's not anything like tech-trance as it's pretty fluffy when you compare it to stuff like Marco Bailey and harder Kanzyani and Vigorito stuff.

It's an excellent point about the labelling of a tech trance DJ. Someone like Eddie Halliwell plays a lot of techno and a lot of trance but not much tech trance. I think of him as a hard dance / trance dj.

WTF @ dave clarke - tech-trance. :eyes: I dare you to say that to his face LTF!

to many genre's these days and even sub-genres

one might say marco v plays tech-trance, the other tech, the other prog...its nevereneding.

people understand music and types of music different to one another and thats y we have these sorta genre conflicts. i rekon go back to the mid to late 90's when trance was just trance.

i would say that he is a tech DJ through and through. although he is one of the true pioneer of trance -- or laid down the blueprint of trance sound.(with the other one being oliver lieb, who is a tech dj as well).

:thepirate
Trance Nutter
John Askew is tech-trance
Timski
Marco V is prob one of the most known for tech trance gear, also Oliver (i have too many names) Klitzing has some aspects of tech trance too him aswell. Doesnt it all mean the repeditiveness of driving techno with distortion and purcussion etc... With the melodys and trance sounds put together with it? I am not a master of music discussion so forgive me if iam wrong :D

Also Dave Clarke?... why dont you call Kevin Saunderson and Jeff Mills tech trance while your at it?
Light The Fuse
back in the old days, clarke and cox used to play the occasional tek-trance set...even had techno elitests asking me if they still make that 'kinda Richie Hawtin like tek trance, you know the stuff he used to play...' (and these are tek elitests)
