Well. This is my party report. I guess it's gonna be long hahaha Thanks Erwin! This is your school!
Wednesday night, March 23, 2005: got back from work at about 6 pm and couldn't concentrate on anything, was doing everything and nothing - talking on the phone, chatting online with some friends while my suitcase was waiting to get packed. Printed a t-shirt for Tiesto's show, it came out to be very nice, packed my case, laptop and cameras, called car service to schedule a car for 5.00 am. I guess everything was set and ready. I went to bed at 10 pm but couldn't fall asleep, was too excited.
Thursday, March 24, 2005
Alarm rang but i wasn't sleeping anyway. Got up, get dressed. Cab driver called to say that car was waiting for me downstairs. Snowy and rainy outside. Yuck! 5.15 am - i was checking my bag at JFK AA terminal. 15 minutes later i found out that my cell was missing, but well... who needs a cell phone during the conference LOL.
On the plane I met Brian and bunch of other guys who were going to the WMC. It was very nice to meet your Gf as well, Brian. Brian's friends were meeting us at the airport and we went straight to the Clay hotel where we were staying.
I checked in to my room with no problems, got undressed because my jeans and leather jacket weren't an appropriate outfit for the nice weather in SoBe (around 75F). I put on my bathing suit, had branch with Art and went to Shelborne Hotel for Wet Grooves Party.
I arrived at 2.00 pm and it was a line outside. One drunk guy offered me $200 for my tix but no.... i couldn't wait to get inside LOL.
BTW, thanks Ville for getting me NOTHING. Everyone got VIP pass from Darude but not me. ;-( Ah, well i guess i'm not a friend ??!!
But it was crazy there. I got right after Rivera started. He was awesome. I have never heard him spinning before but he made a very good impression on me, made everybody got out of the pool and dance.
Then - one guy from NYC - nothing special. Chris Lawrence (not as good as he was at Avalon last November), Paul Oakenfold, George Acosta and my fave Darude started at 8.30 pm.
Darude was great. I flew to Las Vegas the weekend before to see him there and i was so under his beats. He rocked. I was doing video but he didn't allow me to post it because there were some songs from his new upcoming CD "Label This", until it hasn't been released i can't put the video online.... remember his first song...it's playing in my head right now.
Then Rick ( the Telemundo producer) got me my VIP pass. Hessu (www.dallassuperstars.com) arrived. Damn, i'm always happy to see this guy.
I was chilling in the backstage with bunch of people and by myself, taking pix. It was a pleasure that some people from TA recognized me and came to say "Hi". Hey Mattivi and Candy Girl!
I got into fight with Dan because i was doing video of Darude and he didn't like it for some reason. I ended up running away from him crying. Hessu, he was right there for me. He appeared and made my tears disaprear. This guy got such a big heart. muah.
After the party I, Hessu, Marko and Turo went to Wyndham hotel to chill there for a bit.
Around 12.30 am we headed to lounge 16 to see Darude's second gig. It was such a small place but who needs too many people when Da man is playing?! I was dancing and enjoying myself.
After the lounge 16 (around 3.00 am) i dropped Darude and Hessu by their hotel in Downtown Miami (they were leaving for Puerto Rico the next day) and went to Space to see last minutes of Tiesto's gig. When i got to Space it was a rediculous line outside. I'm a friend of his but there is no DJ in the world i would wait in line for as long as it looked like it was going to be. It was nice to see Pete Kalamoutsos, see you, man, this weekend in Washington, DC for Armin van Buuren. I left after 30 mins. Went to the hotel to get some sleep.
Friday, March 25, 2005:
Went out for a lunch with Art and Ben, then drove to Nikki Beach. Got there at about 2-3 pm. People were going crazy. Music was great, crowd was even better. I got my beach chair and fell asleep. The sound of Behrouz woke me up. Wow, this guymade me dance my ass off for a few hours, then met Marko and Turo, we were talking about America and Europe, music there and here, sport, culture. I like these Finnish guys. :-)
Honestly i don't really know who was playing but after 7 pm they stopped and it was kinda boring. People were chilling, drinking but without music it's not that much fun. I got my stuff and left. We went to get tix for PvD and then had a dinner at Vietnamese restaurant. It was delicious.
Got to the hotel at about 11 pm. Watch TV, took a shower and got ready for PvD. We arrived to Space at 1.00 am, were waiting in line for about 2 hours and after that i passed out. Seriously. I don't know what happpened, but i heard the noise and i became blind for a a few mins and then passed out, fell right in the middle of the street. LOL. Last thing that i remember was the voice of a tix guy who asked me to sign my CC receipt and i was just repeating "I can't see anything, I can't see anything". I was so scared. They had to call ER and i got to the hospital. Now it's funny but it wasn't funny that night. I felt so bad, like somebody put drugs in my drink and i got poisoned.
Well, i was in the hospital for about an hour and then took a cab back to the hotel. Stopped by the store and got some ice cream and then was slowly walking along Collings ave, talking to people, enjoying peace and nice weather. All trance music was at Space, Sobe during the night time is a hip hop place LOL.
Saturday, March 26, 2005:
Went to the beach, met a nice guy from Tampa Bay, we were talking about some serious stuff - war in Iraq and American politics. Jacob was only 21 but i was so amazed by the clarity of his thinking. He introduced me to his mom and she liked me so much that she left me her telephone number just in case if i need something. how sweet!!!!
Got back to the hotel at about 3 pm to get ready for Ultra. Some smart people recommend me not to go there earlier than 4-5 pm. I couldn't get a cab for about 45 minutes until one Italian guy stopped by in his own car and offered me to drive me to "wherever i was going to". hahaha. I accepted his offer because i had no other options.
Got to Ultra at about 4.00pm, line was huge but everything was very well orginized, so in about 10 mins i was standing in front of a guy showing him my tix. He asked me to open my purse and of course he found my camera there. Damn guy! But... believe or not, i called the police officer who was standing behind the ticket guy and told him that there was no way for me to go to the hotel and leave my camera there. I had to take my camera with me. It's my life!!!! I spend on my camera stuff more money than on my make up. Believe or not but i managed to convince the policeman to let me in with the camera. It was a small but still a victory!
I headed straight to the main stage. It was about 4.30 pm and Ferry Corsten just started his set. Do i need to tell how much i love this guy? I guess not. He is one of the best and always will!
As soon as i saw him i got my "dutch" shirt out of my purse and show it to him (I was standing right in front of the stage in the first row). It wasn't packed yet so he saw me perfectly. Hahaha he was laughing.
Tracklist was posted already but i just want to say that everything he played was off the hook. The Best! The Best!
Then Oakey came. He was good. What i liked about the main stage is their laser and video affects. It was great. Oakey was better than at Shelborne, he played some great tunes.
Then Junkie XL. Well, honestly, people around me were so excited to see him and he was really communicating with the crowd but i wasn't impressed. He was the way too far from the main music aura that was created by every previous Dj. His set was good but it didn't fit the spirit of that night and this particular moment. Sorry guys but this is my opinion.
Who said Tiesto was coming? Tiesto, Tiesto, Tiesto. I bet 80% people came to see him, otherwise i can't explain the presence of orange color everywhere. ;-) The #1 was right on time. Jumped on the stage and rocked the amphitheater. He was back! I'm such a Tijs' whore so forgive me but i was in heaven. He got something from his last set at Crobar but (thanks God) the old Tiesto was back. Some progressive in the beginning and then... just be...and of course every single person was singing "Love comes again" together with Tijs.
I can't say that Tijs was too much into his set, he was looking at his cameraman all the time making sure that he looked good (yeah, baby, you always look good) but he was more enjoying himself and his music.
One crazy but not very smart chick was so excited to see Tijs that she climbed over the barrier and... got kicked out by the security. I was planning to do the same but i was waiting till the last few minutes of his set, so if they would ask me to leave i wouldn't miss anything from Tijs' set.
After second track Dimitri (Tijs's manager) spotted me in the crowd. He saw my shirt. hahaha. This shirt made my night, i have to admit this. He called Wilfried and pointed at me. When all their attention was on me i turned around to show them the rest of the "Note" but they couldn't see and i simply took my shirt off..... and raised it above my head so they could see it. The front of the shirt says " Ik wil een Nederlands meisje Zijn" and the back "Wil je met me trouwen?". Dimitri and Wilfried burst out laughing. I need to e-mail Dimitri my pix so he will know that it was I. LOL.
And when i knew that Tijs was almost ready to finish his set i asked the guy next to me to lift me up so i could reach the prestage. He did warn me that i might be in trouble, plus security was all over the place. But i didnt really care, i wanted Tijs to see me and i was right in front of him. He knew i was somewhere there and i didn't want to dissapoint him.
I got on the top and turned my face to Tijs. He Looked at me and my shirt - shirt that was made for him and about him, and he gave me his killing smile LOL. I turned around and he saw the question written on the back, question that i wanted to ask him.
When i turned back to the stage i got scared because all cameras were focused on me. I was like a little girl under the light projectors, but i didn't give a s..t. I kept dancing because no one came to get me down. Thanks Dimitri, i guess it was your order to leave me alone and let me enjoy the last beats of Adagio for Strings.
PvD replaced Tijs, only on the stage but not in real life. Tijs will always stay the best DJ in the world.
I like PvD and he did a pretty good job. But i don't know what i was more enjoying - his set or Ricki Martin and guys from NU -NRG dancing in the back stage. I didn't know Ricki is a friend of Paul's ??!!
Show was over at 12.00am, everybody was rushing to get out and be at AAA for afterparty. I wasn't going there because i'm not a big fan of Sasha. People were stopping me asking to take pix with them. Funny feeling. They hold me by the stage for 15-20 mins. Amphitheater was almost empty, i was talking to some Dutch guys, practicing my dutch when one of the lifted cameras approached me. It was hanging right in front of my face and red eye was on. it was so closed to me that i could touch it (reminds me of the movies when robots are chasing people hahaha). I started to jump and scream right in the camera. What do you think i was screaming? def i didn't say hello to my grandma LOL. I was screaming "Tisto number one, Tiesto number one!" hahahahaha. Do you think i'm gonna be on Ultra DVD? I can garantee that!
After the show i went to check Space and it was packed as always. i took a cab and got back to the SoBe. Chilled there for a bit before going to bed. Downloaded my pix and video. NICE!!!!
Sunday, March 27, 2005:
Beach in the morning but it was too windy to enjoy the day, so we moved to the hotel's pool. Then one guy arrived and tell me that Armin is scheduled to play at Nikki Beach. It was a lie but still i got to the Nikki beach. It was around 2.00 pm. There were plenty of place - either because many people left already or because it was an admition fee $20. I got for free.
I placed my body on the mattress and asked the guy next to me to rub some sun lotion in my back and legs. He ended up massaging my poor ass. damn it still hurts. I felt he was trying to peel off my skin but i guess he enjoyed it more than i did LOL. I stayed there for next... 10 hours. Dancing with Marques Wyatt, enjoying my last day.
I left at about 11 pm. Right before leaving i saw familiar faces - wow, NYTA!!!! Vtec! It was nice to meet you!
I walked to my hotel, buying ice cream at every open store. I had three of four of them LOL. Some extra pounds will be very helpful in NYC. Stopped by some cool stores to get some gifts for my friends. Hessu, I know you were too busy playing golf so i got something for you also, you and Ville. I'm gonna spoil you guys. LOL. In one T-shirt store i was getting some stuff for myself and tried on 10-15 t-shirts. Owner of the shop was so excited that he asked me to do some modeling for him. hahaha. he already sent me an e-mail to confirm my arrival to SoBe for photoshoot. When i was doing modeling last time? hmmmm when i was 14 yo, something like that.
Got to the hotel, took a shower and packed my case. At 2am i was sleeping like a baby.
Monday, march 28, 2005:
5.00 am - wakeup call. Got dressed, took my suitcase, called the cab.
Arrived to the Miami International airport at 6.30 am. Checked my bags, got breakfirst, got on the plane and two hours later i was back to rainy NYC.
That's it.
I'm almost done. Sorry.
Summary - didn't see everything, but i wasn't going to see everything and everybody. Pity i didn't get to Space not even one time but.... i'll be back and all the Djs will be back. I really enjoyed myself. Thanks Art for your patience and understanding. Pix of my ass where taking by HIM and with his own initiative. I know i'm not the easiest person to deal with but you were great.
Thanks Ville for the great time and sorry for being so annoying sometimes taking pix.
Thanks Hessu for being just Great!
Thanks Marko and Turo. And well, thanks everybody i have met there.
NYC Rules!!!!!!

Thur night - Tiesto ripped it up, best set i've ever heard. Roger Sanchez on Terrace was good.
Friday - Radio1 @ Nikki beach was nice. Some friends of mine had tables in the VIP area behind the Dj booth in the garden so I got to meet Ferry Corsten for a little bit, i saw Oakenfold but i didnt care enough to go meet him.
Friday Night - PVD was aight, Ferry was better, and i didn't get to see Sander on the Terrace.
Sat - Ultra - Armin was good, Ferry was good, Oakenfold was a nice suprise, Junkie XL was eh, Tiesto was decent and i only stayed for the first 30 min of PVD's set.
Sat night - Deep Dish was great, Pete Tong and two other Dj's rocked the terrace hard.
I love SPACE!
