here's what's been going down, at least for me
Second Sun @ Macarena Lounge on Thursday was fantastic. Funny that I spent $20 for just 1 hour, to see just them.
They did a track with Tiffany (yes, that former teenage popstar singer who sang in malls) on their new album, so she came and performed with them.
For Tiesto on Thursday, which I didn't go to, I heard about lots of people not getting in or waiting in line for hours, even though they had advanced tickets (which were later refunded)
Radio 1 at Nikki Beach was great, but I was lucky to get in when I did, because the line got really crazy later on, as I saw when I left.
At the TA dinner, the appetizers were really good, but since it took so long for the main course to arrive, most of us left before having a chance to eat it. |

Friday night -
I first went to Club Spin, because I saw a listing saying that James Zabiela, Nic Fanciulli, Desyn Masiello, and Luke Fair would be playing there. It turns out that they weren't, as I found out after going inside, then confirming as I left. There was some girl playing nice tunes, but trainwrecked often. The place is nice, but was pretty much empty.
So I then headed back to State, for Porter House.
The party was bumpin' and Steve Porter was phenomenal!
It's too bad I forgot to bring a USB cable with me, otherwise I could upload pics while I'm still here (and not worry about running out of space on my memory stick). |

Cameras weren't allowed at ULTRA (more about that later), but other than that, it was excellent
Been great weather here - not too hot or humid, and hardly any rain.
Too bad I have work to do, and can't stay and chill here longer. |

about the camera policy...
First, it wasn't posted on the tickets or on any flyers that cameras weren't allowed (only "recording devices"). Then at the event, there were no such signs posted either. Instead, most people waited in line a good amount of time, just to be told by security that they weren't able to take the cameras in. Add to it that there was no place to check in or safely leave the cameras. If people drove in or had a hotel downtown, it was no problem for them to just go back to leave the cameras there, but I bet most people came from SoBe by cab.
A friend (thanks to him for the idea) and I resorted to hiding our cameras in a paper bag, then stashing that underneath a bush somewhere a few blocks away. Luckily they were still there when we came back.
I also heard that later on, people were able to get their cameras through without security doing much of a check on them
I didn't go to the afterparty, but I heard that Sasha & Digweed were great, and so were the lasers, but the event was poorly organized and staffed, especially regarding the lines.
I also heard that only Sasha & Digweed played from 2 am onwards.
Cattaneo, Zabiela, and UNKLE probably played to an empty arena, since the event started at 11 pm (while ULTRA was still going on), and it seemed that many ppl didn't get in until around 2 am, even if coming straight from ULTRA.
For people in SoBe, finding a cab sucked for both to (if you leave too late) and from ULTRA.
They definitely should have some shuttle buses between ULTRA and SoBe.
Until then, maybe it's not a bad idea to call for (or reserve) a cab from your hotel. |

btw, did anyone take the flight back to Newark that left Sunday, 8:13 pm?
After the plane landed in Newark, cops boarded the plane to escort out an "unruly passenger". I totally missed whatever it was that he did.
Well, his hands and feet were tied up with hard plastic bands, so he had to hop through the aisle and off the plane. Everyone watched and laughed at him as he did this. |
