| Im hoping it moves swiftly, i agree with this same sound gets boring. Its just trying to be uplift and uplift died in early 2001. I dont listen to new uplift, cause i dont particurly enjoy it. it would be cool to move onto more electronic dance sounds imo like earlier stuff but with a modern twist |

| I think there are a lot of awesome ideas here. I've still been in a club and heard the beginning of some very simple/very uplifting trance tune that makes the crowd go nuts. After trance has 'evolved' do you think that some of the 'cheesy' stuff will eventually become oldskewl favorites? |

I think that some DJs will continue to play uplifting trance because there will always be a market for commercial music, esp with the newbies.
I'm sure other DJs will play it from time to time, it's always an effective closer, hands in the air and all the stuff. |

Maybe because some people are newer to the dance scene than others and don't remember the harder sounds from the past? There's no crime in that, we all had to start somewhere. I think it's encouraging that people are excited by change.
I think Djs like Christopher Lawrence are leading the charge with a fresher, harder edge tech trance. I have a long history in the dance scene and am also happy to hear the harder sounds re-emerging. That cheezy anthemic stuff was awful. |

I think I'm long enough in "dance" to know that.
What I meant was: -The basses will get harder so u can almost FEEL the music. New sounds, new inventions, new techniques will be addes into the soundbanks...
Music will have an evolution, it's not far away... People always want to find something new, better,... That's also in music.
You can compare it the best with:
The invention of 3D
Before there was no 3D on paper, people couldn't really see depth. When they knew how to paint everything in 3D people could fele the depth.

Well I think trance IS evolving !
I know a lot of talents and their trance music is really great :))
I hope that more people like to hear them. I especially like the music of about :blank (PLEASE PLEASE his vinyll will come soon BUY THEM!!!) *a friend of mine *gg* lol *...
P'raps you'll hear from me soon.. P'raps in 3 years my music's playing in the internet radio stations or in club. WEll I dunno.. ! But would it be Acid Trance than or another kind of trance?
I heard, that a lot of people like to mix trance with orchestral music.. but I don't really like it, because tooo many people do that... [see Mom - A big german internet community with a lot of trancer or newbies, who call themselves "trancer"] But why did they do so? Because a man called "Tiesto" started with "Forever Today"? Or even earlier? I dunno...
But I stick to ACID TRANCE :) [and real trance... kai tracids one .. well after my definition it isn't really that trance I call trance]
Here in Germany trance is evolving, too but negativ: IT's becomming dance. Well, when I'd like to present my music to people at my age or a little bit older, they say "THATS TECHNO!" and you'll see, they do not have a knowledge about trance.
I'll tell you: PLEASE PLEASE DO SOMETHING and TRANCE NEVER DIES in my heart :) |

i see basically two directions...
i don't really see much of a future for trance anymore to be honest. i agree that it will most likely slowly go towards the techier side of things. most of the big trance dj's have already been heading there. i don't really see much of a future for armin's style of trance simply because i don't think there is enough talent trying to make that sound. slowly but surely...i think its gonna die out because people will continue to get tired of it like the rest of us already have.
the other half of it is i see the direction the progressive side is turning towards basically more and more experimentation. its already been happening with the blending of more housier and electro sounds and i think people are loving it. i think it'll continue to head in that direction, which is where i think i'll end up hehehe. i hate to say it but that's where the majority of the innovative and original sounding producers have been these last two years. experimenting with breaks, electro, house etc...really great stuff... |
