...and that's exactly the airline that is intending to set up a larger-scale lounge in these new A380s... along with a gym, beauty parlour, private double beds (35 of them) and a casino.

Hmmm... if you're playing roulette and you hit some nasty turbulance, could you make a claim to get your money back? :)

To bad they cancelled service to Toronto. Hopefully with some new Aircraft they will re-instate their service.

Hopefully they were smart enough in developing the new terminal at Pearson to take this beast into consideration. The problem is the huge wingspan. It's 50 feet wider than a 747 (260-odd feet), so it takes up a massive amount of space at the gate.

The GTAA has apparently accomodated that with the new Terminal 1. Apparently right now though, the only airline that will operate the A380 into Toronto will be Emirates. AC isn't ordering any, I don't think they ever will.

This Aircraft will give the "MILE HIGH CLUB" a whole new meaning!!! LOL

I work at Honeywell aerospace in mississuaga and thats our biggest project now. Over a hundred employees working on this big thing!

we're building a temperature/pressure sensor controller and a power distribution system for it.

from what I hear, working on this thing is quite the bitch. Employees on the program are often on stress leave and there was even a report of a guy having a heart attack last summer. Many things going wrong and deadlines missed by decades! This is largely because of the size of that BEAST and the company's inexperience with anything of that size.

each one costs the airline some several hundred million dollars...i'll get the exact figure soon

The development cost is estimated to be $11.5bn. The list price of the Airbus A380 US $280m (compared with $198 million to $227 million for the 747-400).

i dont like this plane at all. the interior looks great, but the exterior (if anyone cares) looks ugly, especially the nose section. but its gonna be exciting to fly this bird in the future. i still think that the boeing 747 is much better than airbus. ;)

mindspin
this just in "dj tiesto to launch new airline "tiesto air""
