How much you make soley depends on how much you sell and what your contract stipulations are.
Given that, for most labels, the breakeven number is roughly about 600/800 vinyls, which essentially mean to be at 0 balance you must sell that many units, otherwise you lost money.
Now, how many labels actually sell that much in this day and age? Some go over, some go under, but I'd say the average is between 700 and 1000 per given label. It doesn't take much to realize how much money you can make off that. Do not forget that labels pay bi-anually, which mean twice a year, so its definitely not something you can depend on for a living by any means. |
