Oh, and btw - who was the dude in the brown 'local celebrity' shirt?

-that was my first roomate from Virginia Tech... his name is lou:D he came down from chicago on saturday on a wim to party with us. haven't seen him in about 3 years, so that was just all the more icing on the night for me;)

-topher i got ya buddy!

-lucas i forgot to mention, i was really really diggin your ! lots of dark dirty tribally stuff!! and it was fun hangin out friday night with you. good thing they split us up on the lineup timewise, because from a look through your crates my usual style is VERY similar to yours! how about a tag-team at Addiction 2?? hehe

Awesome night guys. We definately have to do this again. I was glad I finally got to meet some of you. I got a ton of pictures from the event(I was the dork running around with the tripod if you saw me). I'll be posting some up here as soon as I get the chance. I kind of wish I could have stuck it out till the end. I think we ought to do what Chris had talked to me about next time. Have only a couple dj's and end the show around 2am since just about everyone had cleared out by then anyway. Another thing that might help out if we could figure a way to pull it off would be to have food close by. I know that almost all of my friends that came took off at about 1am cause they were starving. Having food close by, or maybe even just some snacks that people could buy at the bar would probably help with that little issue.

Thanks to everyone that helped put this together. Thanks to the dj's that made the event so great. Thanks to everyone that drove as long as they did to get there. Kind of makes me feel like a loser for only having to drive 1 hour. I'm looking forward to our next event. I'm staying all night next time as well, no matter what time it ends.

I would love to get my act together and be able to be at the next event. I was the silly guy yelling at the crowd and dancing on the stage

i know who you are now! i don't think i actually met you before hand. but from what you were doing pumping the crowd up during the mixes, i'd say your act *was* together! ;)

since this is the "review" thread, here is a few other things i haven't said yet... what a perfect night for the party wasn't it!! (other than that engineering contest) the weather was HOT (compared to cleveland) and beautiful all weekend. we probly could have actually done it as an outdoor event (remember that idea?)

we're no promoters, we're just DJ's, and with that in mind everyone did a hella fine job getting the word out about this, esp. chris, dan and whoever else worked the local scene there. this has opened up the future possibilities for stuff like this.

i was also glad the night went off without any "hitches" (other than the needle weight skipping stuff). by "hitches" i mean no one got hurt, there were no fights, no one asked to hear "dat fitey cent track yo", no police telling us to turn it down, etc... basically just a pretty diverse group of people coming together to hear some great music.

one suggestion i can think of is far fetched at this point, because of the cost, but if we had 2 rooms; 1 for straight up trance (a la topher and daniel) and 1 for progressive, we could have the same number of DJ's and more time for each. otherwise it would be a good idea to slim down the roster 1 or 2 people.

on that subject, tylerc i want to thank you for offering and then stopping your mix a bit early so that i could have some decent time to put a little mix together, i really appreciated that bro! i got a good pic of you and your lady in the DJ booth, its class, i'm gunna post it later.

now i'm gunna get working on these mixes!

Great time this weekend.

Sorry Tyler & Daniel for skipping your tracks. I was trying really hard to sober up around 11, but it obviously didn't work so well. I wasn't even aware I played a Santiago Nino track until I looked at the CD about an hour later, because I thought I was playing a track called Reginella at the time. Next time someone puts on an event, either don't let me hide a fifth of vodka in the room with the couches after drinking wiseman shots and watching the Cubs all afternoon or else just have Chris lock me out :)

Regardless, I enjoyed everyone's sets and I thought most of them sounded even better than a lot of the DJs who get paid well to come to Chicago. Keep posting when you have radio shows available online, productions (Tyler ;) ) or if any of you are playing events. I promise if I can make it I will not scratch your records.:whip:

Keep up the good work everybody and hopefully see some of you at the BT & Sasha shows in Detroit the last week of May.

Well thanks. I guess I will have to get behind the decks next time.

About the turntables skipping,
I think it was a combination of three things- the dj booth was sooo not level, even adjusting the turntable feet all the way to compensate still had them at about a 5 degree angle or something... the only time they skipped for me was when someone jumped inside the dj booth, so when there was a lot of people up there later I bet that was a factor... and thirdly, I probably should have set the weights from 2.5 to 3.0... I just didn't do that beforehand because we didn't seem to have problems earlier.
