IT'S ALL GONE PETE TONG is an award winning mockumentary -- a fictionalized and comedic "biopic" based on legendary DJ Frankie Wilde. It is a hilarious, wild and original look at an extraordinary life.
Having found success with the mockumentary genre with 2002’s indie cult darling FUBAR, a fictionalized portrait of two aging headbangers, acclaimed Canadian filmmaker Michael Dowse shifts his comedic focus with IT'S ALL GONE PETE TONG to the superstar DJ lifestyle and club culture, in general.
Frankie was one of Europe’s most talented and envied DJs. Everything about his life was over the top: the clubs, the parties, the women and the drugs. But the years of pounding music and heavy toxins took their toll, eventually leaving Frankie stone deaf. The good times gone, Frankie isolated himself in his villa for a year under a pile of self-pity and a mountain of drugs.
IT'S ALL GONE PETE TONG chronicles Frankie’s dynamic reconnection with the beats that had defined him, the comeback that left the club world stunned, and his mysterious disappearance.
Paul Kaye, portraying Frankie Wilde, turns in an award-winning performance. The film features interviews with world-famous DJs including Pete Tong, Carl Cox, Tiesto and Paul Van Dyk. The movie’s soundtrack is an amazing collection of club, new independent and classic songs.
The phrase, "It's All Gone Pete Tong," is Cockney rhyming slang that plays off the name of superstar DJ Pete Tong. It means, "It's all gone wrong."

this movie ROCKED. i was pretty grossed out in the first half of it because it did comprise of a lot of drug and alcohol intake and therefore, much ralphing, sweating, and other nastiness. other than that, the story was incredible, the acting was fantastic, the humor was spot on, and every bit of it was very entertaining. not a tad bit boring at all.
but the story was amazing, and it makes me so curious about frankie wilde!! i didn't think it was a true story until the director actually said it out loud at the end-- which was pretty cool, the fact that producer/director and main actor did a Q & A session after the flick.
imo, everyone who loves and supports EDM should go see this movie :) |

i also went to see it and definitely enjoyed myself....although I would have liked it to be a bit longer so that it would be a little more convincing....
now onto the controversial part, I would think that he did not exist since no one ever really heard of him....the director however said that he did exist with all seriousness....now if you look around the web you will realize that this was all a big stunt just to make him seem real...wow i must say i was really fooled...they really went to extremes (like making a discogs and internetdj page for him)
So final verdict, HE WAS NOT REAL |
