Is the most arrogant, destestable prick of a bastard...
yet will be forever the most innovative with the fattest, sickest, dirtiest, diseased, grooviest, throbbing, thrusting, blackest beats known to the heart of man.
eh hem... opinions? |

you wouldnt happen to have a link to that discogs thread where he was talking about all the things that he thought was wrong about trance would you?
it was posted in here some time ago but for the life of me I cant find that link anymore, and I wanted to share it with a friend.
if anyone still has that thing, please post it. |

| he really does give a scent of that Brooklyn slang i'm so accustomed to: "I am still into doing what I do where these other scrubbs up on top could care less..." :tongue2 |

that isnt the same one, but worthy of sharing anyway.
I dont really hang out at discogs but I was under the impression that the thread I was looking at was a one-off appearance, but it seems from this that he is a regular poster.
fun stuff.
the thread I remember extended into several long pages full of arguing, I think rhadagast posted the link, but I'm not finding it in the record of his posts |

ok.. so i've HEARD alot about him.. READ alot about him, but not sure I'm fully aware of just how progressive or innovative he was or maybe even still IS. I've just recently heard a set of his after being drained due to the bland watered down EDM i've heard of as late. Well his sound just revamped my interest !!!!! Which is saying ALOT. I find his style very, very intelligent and diverse. Sometimes I just feel I need to study each moment of a transition of his. His style makes me feel again that infamiliar aura I received during my discovering years of trance
So I guess I'm asking for even further facts, opinions you know of Mr. Frankie Bones.. What he has promoted (which he faithfully stands by the underground) and what has progressed or digressed because of him. Throw it all in... rants, hate and even deserved praise :D
Frankie on Trance:
Look here.....If it means anything to you all, trance does really suck the golden balls of all styles & genres in Dance & Electronic Music. TRANCE IS CRAP MATE!
But that really is just my opinion and like everyone reading this can say what they feel, I will just back up my theory to this comment and move on...DON'T TALK THE TALK, IF YOU CAN'T WALK THE WALK......
TRANCE - Sandra Collins & Micro are two trance DJ's who would probably not be where they are today, if they did not find inspiration in hearing me play records 12 years ago. I always liked the Hypnotic side of Techno...like Harthouse, Frankfurt Beat, PCP. Listen to any Beltram record from 1993-1994 and understand what Trance is supposed to sound like..."Caliber" on WARP? That is trancey....
PROBLEM - No Emphasis On The Drums......TRANCE
always has no emphasis on the Drums & Percussion.
Trance Sucks because nobody gives OLIVER LIEB much credit for being able to find a happy medium between TRANCE and TECHNO and until somebody does TRANCE SUCKS....Because all good tracks start from the Drum Programming and nobody cares....It is
so formula & Cliche' that everyone playing it sounds the same........ |

| i can't really say much about him as i've heard but a few productions of his and maybe a set or two, one of which is still lying around my hd which i need to take heed of; nor have i done any research pertaining to him, but what i do know is that he was a cardinal proponent of the early rave scene extant in NYC, and has really conduced to what the underground scene has become today...which isn't very considerable, unfortunately. |

| From reading his comments on discogs, it sounds to me like he hasn't listened to any trance since the early 90s. |

He's a cool guy.
He makes good music, he likes good music, and as far as being an arrogant prick goes...I think he's an awfully kind person.
You'll find very few people on his level willing to be such a helpfull regular on an internet forum consisting of people that are below his level for the most part. And he rarely comes across as condescending. |

| Almost every oldskool (techno/house) guy who's talking about trance is meaning the cheesy one.. Progressive has more techy and grooving beats IMO. |

| Met him backstage after a party he played at a few years ago. The guy was so emaciated looking, as if he was a holocaust victim or something. Seemed nice though. |

| Why do you all act surprised? If you are, you are probably a total idiot because this is how techno deejays talk and act and they all hate trance for the most part. Frankie Bones just shocked the hell out of you people because you had never really seen a techno deejay interact with others in that matter. Believe me, most techno deejays have that huge ego and a filthy mouth concerning everything NON TECHNO. Get a grip, I find it funny as feck with Bones comments, I always knew he had a huge ego, same with other techno deejays but now it backs up what I always thought. Techno deejays are a unique kind with huge egos that tend to hate everything non techno. |
