| oh and you think that was not all done for PR's sake either?. Frankie Bones is certainly not stupid and usually outlandish comments like that, even if the person believes it 100%, usually get press for Bones anyway. |

Agreed, those comments sound way too childish and simple for someone who's been in the game as long as Frankie. |

I've heard from people that have met Bones, that he does have a huge ego but he is a techno deejay, he is supposed to but I'm sure the PR people for a deejay tell them to do things like that. It got many, many boards talking about him and should find its way into magazines and its funny that Bones is just about to release another 12". Timing is great ain't it
Look at Brandon Block, a total up by anyone's definition but ya know he does the drunken stuff on purpose, it got his name in the paper, same with Peasy. Look at Dave Clarke who fought Richie Hawtin at Creamfields 2001, that was a calculated PR stunt imo, they might hate each other, but it got them in just about every magazine and you know World Service was released around that time.... |

i meant in spite of being a egotistical trash talking SOB, he DELIVERS, which is much more important imo.
Thanks for the info TT :) You seem knowledgable about this. Any other info?
Guess maybe I could do some research of my own, buy a book. His persona definately peaks your interest, thats for sure. His music makes you stay. |

dont know about that. He's a regular at Discogs. All his posts seem in to be in the same vain. I'm not complaining, he does provide a diverse perspective. |

Dunno how personally, seems like a nice guy though. Heard a few early 90s sets by him, he's good at interacting with the crowd, which is fun cuz of his accent and all. :p He even made fun of himself for trainwrecking in the beginning of his set.
Oh, and he spins awesome choonage. ;) |

oh yes, there is really two types of techno artists/deejays or producers, over the top mofos or ones that don't do press and you don't know anything about them. Mad Mike Banks and UR are one of them but they got it right, look at Tiesto, he is killing himself being a popstar but look at Mad Mike Banks, 6 pics exist of him, all of him with a bandana covering his mouth and head. He runs a successful label that uses little or no press and he does not do interviews, yet he sells lots of rekkids. He got it right as well because his artists do what they do best, which is make music and that's what it should be about.
Dave Clarke has always been over the top and really mouthy, same with Sven Vath. I think Techno has the most colorful people.
You can say Frankie Bones is a mouthy sob but remember he is from brooklyn, this is probably how he talks but he also says what he wants but they do know that if they diss someone, the press goes around, oh they dissed him. Music is a cruel business and it won't change. |
