Yes they both have the rights to defend themselves if they get attacked. Lets hope such scenerio never occurs because it will be disastrous on both sides.

I would agree with him, but on the basis that our military would have trouble defending Newfoundland or Vancouver Island against a serious agressor (not on the basis of strategic missile defence systems). |

I didn't say they were justified, just that suicide killing was not, and is not, endemic to Japanese culture.
Suicide itself? Well that's a whole other matter.
In that sense, "homicide bomber" is a better term. |

perhaps,but tell me this is there really a need to have a military power like the US?Iam glad Canada isnt paranoid country like the U.S. and thank god that we are not hated around the world like the Americans.
So as far as I know there isnt any proof or indications of a direct threat to Canada. |

Yes maybe just maybe we get attacked in 50 yrs from now.But do we have to live in fear and be paranoid until that day and spend billions on our military for such scenerio if it occurs?
I think we can spend that money on something way more useful and on something that could help people on their day to day lives.:) |
