ORKIDEA - 6 hour set in Toronto!!

Yes, the rumour is true. We will be bringing back the man himself in late January for a 6 hour set of magical music seldom experienced by most human beings.
We have some questions for everyone though, so we need the communities vibe on some issues we are facing.
1. Would you be interested still if it was on a Wednesday from 10pm - 4am?
2. We will be doing it at a nice upscale bar with a killer soundsystem. It will be 19+, do you think we should have an all ages area? Might be possible, but so far it looks like a 19+ event.
3. Who should spin to open for Orkidea? A local, not Mauro Piccotto eh!?
Maybe some more questions later, but let us know what would make you happy.

I'm not into the stuff Orkidea spins, but I can see ppl going nuts for this tho. SonicState .... you guys should do a regular clubb night with Tracne/Progressive "50/50" your guys are by far the one of the TOP promoters in TO. ELITE of ELITES in my books. By the way ... how come you can't get Tiesto to do a 6hrs sets ? That would be amazing ... I would honestly pay alot to set that happen. (Keeping dreaming ... SOS2 Galvatron, that won't happen) So can you guys give out who is coming to WinterGalactic this year ? Tiesto or Mauro Picotto ?
Orkidea 6 hrs set = Very GOOD idea for his FANS out there.
Opening for him = Mark Scaife or Deko-Zee
19+ = 100% for sure !!!
Clubb Venue = GUV or something smaller .. maybe System Sound Bar :) |

Hmm, wednesday? That kinda kills it, but hey, for all Orkidea fans that's not such a bad thing... even tho I'd love to see it happen on Friday/Saturday night.
10pm-4am sounds just fine... and for 19+ event - I probably wouldn't visit it if it was all ages (probably)...
And for the venue, try to look into bringing him to Tonic... now that I think of it, "For Those Who Know" is on Wednesdays @ Tonic, and they are bringing in Sandra Collins this Wed. :D |

Even though I don't post much on TA, i'm going to take the time to respond to this because I'm really looking forward seeing him again.
- If the event is on a Fri/Sat night, then I would definitely be there, no question. If its on a wednesday night, then it's more like 50/50.
- No problem with 19+... I think most of the people wanting to see orkidea are 19+ anyway...
- Lots of local talent to choose from... Dekoze, Luke Fair, Mark Scaife are all good choices...
One question for you guys... are you planning on bringing back Orkidea for Wintergalactic? |

I loved his set at the Docks, and I'd LOVE to see him again!!!
19+ is a good idea. Like Tech1200s said, most ppl there will probably be 19+ anyways.
BTW, I'd really go crazy if Blank & Jones played WinterGalactic next year, I've been waiting on them for so long. |

| Has anyone here even heard a 6 hour set b4 ??? It's unreal, can't wait. Tonic does have good *wednesday* nights, but i don't really like the club...last time i was there on a wed nite was for oakenfold in the spring and was really disappointed. Sure the set sucked overall, but i was also disappointed in the sound and lighting. This event HAS to be 19+ ....especially if it's on a wednesday i think. Spaceman ...what are some examples of possible bars????? |

alright here it is....wednesday no...not unless its in MAY but for now it would be better for alot of ppl if it was a sat or fri...as for the venue somewhere nice...NOT THE DOCKS! lol....sorry man but when i went in there i felt like i was 16 again.....make it by my area =P....k as for opening DJ doesnt really matter i say get another talented dj that will surprise us like orkidea did at armin.... make him play some epic tho....i wanna hear some tight epic trance.....and 19+ is beautiful...eventhough i really didnt mind the all ages at the docks since their were very few young kids....i only saw a few..=)
plus lets admit it what little kid is gonna wanna see orkidea they dont even know who he is....=)if its not DMX i doubt they will be there :stongue: |

Since your asking, I would prefer on the weekend, but really I would see him anytime anywhere.
I dont see how you could really make a small club all ages, to much crampin, but I feel bad for the little childrens, so whatever on that issue. |

| fri or sat would be cool, but having said that if its on a wednesday only dedicated fans will show so that would be cool. make it 19+ people in my opinion would be more educated and appreciate his skills more... yeah thats it... oh yeah... i love you sonic state, mary me. |

It should be all ages I think that would be better. As for Orkidea playing at Wintergalactic I think its gonna be an awesome chance becuase it seems to me Orkidea and SS have a great relationship. I am only 18 but I love Orkidea, so I will have to getout ol faithful (fake id). Thats all, I doubt any kiddies will wanna come but I am a Tranceaddict so I will come. Weekend would be a better time to have it but if not then thats kool. Can't wait till Wintergalactic thought...I would my pants if you got some big names there again such as Orkidea/Tiesto/Marco V all spinning that night.

Tonic doesnt seem to have the greatest vibe as for venues...But im sure you guys will have the place looking like gold... But Tonic has its onw promoters, dont they?

The first time I've seen Orkidea was at State 01
I must say he played a pretty good set despite all the bad things I heard about him before hand.....he definitely made up for it
as for the 6 hour set....WOW!!!!! I would definitely go!
19+ im alright with
wednesday is an alright day, but many of us goto school, so wednesday could be a bad day....the only party I made it out to on a Wednesday this year is PvD....so I give a thumbs down for a wednesday
