| my first interaction with "trance" music was back in '91 when I bought Enigma's 1st CD, a nice tune named Mea Culpa got me hooked on the genere of trance / electronic music |

| I grew up listening to rave/dance music that was Technotronic, Snap!, etc in the 90s. In fact, the very first song that I listened to on the radio was 2 Unlimited - Twilight Zone. Back in the day, SF radio stations were blasting these songs constantly. Most of my childhood was spent listening to alternative/rap/pop. In the late 90s, I listened to Children and Better Off Alone. So yeah, I started out the cheese route... then moved on to Corsten/Tiesto (late 90's/early 00's). I have moved on from trance, but occassionally there is a release that makes me :eyespop:. ;) |

| at a friends room i heard a CD with trance tunes like Sunbeam - Outside World and Jones & Stephenson - The First Rebirth. That was back in 1993/1994. After that I was hooked. |

i heard happy hardcore first but that doesnt count
i heard trance music the first time, either when watching hackers (orbital - halcyon and on and on) or i was in the irvine spectrum in an anime store and they were playing a mixtape and i wanted to buy it but they didnt have extra copies, but that was in 1997 when i heard the mixtape, not sure about when i saw hackers |

I have no idea what songs it was, but some friends of my brothers brought around a CD of dance music, one of those cheese compilations that dance radio stations put out.
That got me onto EDM, and I progressed from cheesy commerical (probably was something like SM Trax and Sash!) to Trance, just went hunting and found some stuff.
In fact the first 'trance' song I heard was probably Sash - Encore un Fois
That woulda been in about 97 or so.
Hold on, I remember listening to Ace of Bass in about 94/95 :nervous: |

the year was 97....
and the track was brainbug - nightmare spinned by dj numark
i was 15 years old, i started smoking that night!

My story is a bit strange. It wasn't a song what hooked me up to Trance music but a person. Last September browsing in the different forums I have "met" a Dj and he started to "spam" my comp with tons of different tracks. Some of them i recognized but most of them were totally new for me. I decided to give it a try and went to see Ferry Corsten last October at Avalon. Good start, don't you think so?! Do i have to add anything after that?!
Plus Ferry was the one who made me discover not only love to trance music but also love to Dutch guys
