Yeah, the Furry Phreaks track that was on Northern Exposure... what was it, 2 or 3 (?), is definitely nice. |
East Coast, whichever one that was (2?) -- quality track though. That cd had the best intro of any mix album I've ever heard.
As for Chicane, I personally like Red Skies and Autumn Tactics more than Saltwater though I admit that Saltwater has far more general popularity. I'm surprised no one had mentioned Red Skies as of yet. I really like that track, and think it's way underrated. |

Yeah, Red Skies is really nice. There are a lot of underrated Chicane tracks, though. Perhaps the most underrated is Sunstroke (Disco Citizens "On The Train" Remix) which supercedes all his trancers except possibly Halycon. All in my opinion, of course. :) |

Saltwater is a good song. Probably one of his most popular. But...
I wouldn't call it his best work. In fact, it's not even totally his work. The song is basically a trance cover of "Theme from Harry's Game" from Clannad. Chicane even uses Maire Brennan for vocals, who is the vocalist for Clannad. If I was going to pick a best song, I'd choose one of his original songs.
Part of the reason it's probably so popular is because it's so familiar. "Theme from harry's Game" is one of the most popular Celtic pop songs of the last three decades. Been used in tons of commercials, movie scores, etc. |

| Yeh saltwater will be the track that everyone remembers Chicane for. Although I love it, Don't Give Up and Offshore (DC mix) personally mean more for me. |
