Wakestock in TO - Islanders aren't happy

Can someone PLEASE vacate those idiots that live on the islands? They are really starting to get on my nerves with their bull!!!

“I think it's problematic for this particular event because I think it will damage the environment of the islands and it will spoil it for Torontonians and other tourists that come and enjoy the picnics and the outdoor activities,” said McConnell, who suggested she'd fight the event from returning next year.
The festival, which includes wakeboarding competitions, pro-skateboarding, freestyle motocross exhibitions, bands and a bikini contest, caused controversy last year at its previous home, Wasaga Beach. More than 700 criminal charges were laid, and a lack of policing, garbage pickup and accommodations left the town a mess.
Town officials said ‘no thanks’ to holding the event this year, which paved the way for Toronto to pick up hosting duties.
“There's always a threat when you have human uses within as a natural environment that's trying to stabilize and maintain some kind of equilibrium. That always has some kind of negative effects,” said John Stille of the Toronto & Region Conservation Authority.

| Has anyone been to wakestock? I hit it in Wasaga by mistake 2 years ago...didn't know it was going on, and when I got there I've discovered a hell of a party....AWESOME! |
