Did you know that there are still states in the US that refuse to teach evolution in science class? CRAZINESS! |
In Arkansas there is a lawsuit going on trying to get the evolution theory completely erased from every book in the state.
And it's going through rather well, so far.
I'm absoinglutely speechless about that one. |

But do they really teach evolution in our education system? I never recall doing anything in elementary level that dealt with evolution or religion. It was all carefully avoided and even things like the Holocaust/WW2, etc were just glazed over. In High School, the only class that was directly related to evolution was "Man and Society" or "Society, Challenge and Change". The first unit was anthropology and we spent a bit of time doing that.
And there was a movie with Gregory Peck on him being tried as a teacher for teaching evolution in the Southern US. I think they remade it recently. It's crazy to let fanatics win out over proven science. And how the judiciary in the US can allow that is beyond me. |

The proof is in my own personal faith. |

well that's all fine and good...but it seems like more of a convenient excuse on behalf of religious people as to why there is actually no physical proof. |

The idea of a god was created to explain the unexplainable. i.e. Why does it rain? God sent it, of course!
Now that we can explain these things, theres less and less place for the idea of a god in our society |
