Generation ... SEX?

So I was just thinking about how all the time our generation is making jokes about sex. Like...anything even remotely sexual people tend to jump with an "Oh hO!" or something. I mean, I get the feeling guys tend to think like that in a way already, but is this generation more primed than others?
From pop-stars to Pamela Andersons slut show, I forgot what its called, to the proliferation of porn, lots of it for free....
What do you think the effects have been?
I dont know if you can directly tie anything back to it, but if you saw a room full of people staring at a covered tray in the middle, and they slowly, slowly lifted the top and inside was a steaming steak and the audience started hooting and salavating, youd say that that society had an issue with food (dont get me started on food network). With Sex our society is the same way.
Ive just been seeing a drastic DECREASE in interpersonal relations and an INCREASE in sex based....everything.
What caused which? Are people less friendly because we feel that, "eh I dont need to try that ard for a plain girl cuz I can watch a porn with some hot chicks in it" or are they merely catering to an increasingly isolated group of people who need an outlet for their lonliness? |

| Not to hear Baby Boomers talk about it...Ive talked to a lot, and even putting into effect the idea of kids being messed up, they just see the world as a much less innocent place now. I guarantee that 80% of middle schoolers back then wouldnt say that oral sex isnt sex lol. |

It's the media IMO, especially advertising. We see so much sex-related stuff, it makes us more sexual as a society. People are beginning to look at sex as not a big deal, just something you do to get off or what not instead of looking at it as something you share with someone you love. It's considered "odd" nowadays if you're still a virgin at 18 or older...not that there is anything wrong w/ that, I myself fall into this "odd" category. People take sex less seriously and are having it at a younger and younger age, which isn't good IMO because I really don't think 12 and 13 year old kids have the maturity to have sex.
Where society is going with sex isn't good...it isn't healthy, but I don't think its going to stop. |

I would say even before. Sex is such a huge facet of human existence, that it's impossible to avoid. The only difference today is that the lesser sexual innuendos of yesteryear have lost their impact when compared to our jaded existence. It's not any more pervasive now than it ever was, it's just presented in a more blunt fasion. |

lol reminded me of a Jack Handy quote
I believe in making the world safe for our children, but not our children's children, because I don't think children should be having sex.
-sorry back to seriousness- |

| Its odd that people are having sex earlier, but yet people are maturing later than ever. |

haha love that one.
We are definitely turning into one jaded society, about a lot of things, true long-lasting love among them. Pretty sad. |

| Ppl need to start taking sex serious here in the US in three yrs from now 50% of all sexual active ppl (ages 15-24) will have at least one STD. The problem is that our parents dont talk about sex with us and they don't tell us of the bad side efects such at warts on our pennis and stuff like that. Also teens need to understand that oral sex will still get u an STD and that is intercourse. |
