Junkie XL review...

Quite an exciting night for those of you that missed out. I finally broke into a circle of FL TA's, thanks to a certain someone. The evening started slow, but picked up quickly. Such classic Junkie XL tracks like 'Breezer', 'Beauty that Never Fades' and 'Dirty Sticky Floor' made an early appearence, but effictively brought the crowd together and left them only wanting more. In the last remaining minutes of the show, no one wanted to leave. It was the kind of night that everyone wished would have last until 6am. The vibe was overwhelmingly awesome... and Orlando was caught off guard as Junkie sang along with classic hits by Depeche Mode and Fischerspooner. Although House of Blues was not packed wall-to-wall, it only made the evening that much more intimate; it made it a night that many would regret not attending. Although inebriated at the moment, my thoughts are quite clear that Junkie XL sucecessfully secured a following in Orlando that is bound to grow in numbers.

To all those of you that i had the chance to meet, the night would not have been nearly as good without you. It has been such a long time that I've had a chance to party with some cool people with the same great taste in music that I do. I honestly look forward to seeing you all at future events. However, tonight will remain a fresh memory in my mind for quite some time. What can I say, the Dutch surely know how to party.... even with those blasted Brits.

Other tracks worth mentioning:
Tilt - The World Doesn't know...
..like I said earlier, inebriated.... can't really remember them all. I believe there was a Deep Dish - Flashdance remix at some point, as well as a altered version of Andy Moor's take on Ridgewalkers - Find.

So yea.... I'm still in "party-high" mood.... but it's getting light outside and I feel like dreaming of someone special.... so, tonight has finally come to a close. And now I lay my head down to sleep...

What a great show...energy was amazing and he played alot of tracks off his forthcoming album the standout track of the new ones being a track called today.Rachel it was great hanging out with you again after almost a year and dancing and talking music for most of the night with you definitely don't need to let another year pass before hanging out again.Met vero during the show..nice meeting you and i got to meet zeronium during like the last 10 minutes.Only oroblem of the night was the b.s. at the end when junkie xl's girlfriend carolyn tried to take a bunch of us backstage and H.O.B's gestapo refused to allow us in and after she went backstage to try ang grab him to come out and meet with us...h.o.b's security threw us all out because the show was over.A great night overall and one of the most fun nights i have had out in awhile.

It was one hell of a show. I never danced so hard in my life before. Junkie surely knows how to get the crowd going. It wasn't just the music, it was the whole show.

I came there very early, around nine o'clock. It was pretty empty, dance floor was practically empty until Junkie came on.. Opening DJ was pretty good. Played plenty of progressive breaks and house, some of the stuff that I would spin too. One of the tracks I recognized was Rachael Starr - Till There Was You (Gabriel & Dresden Club Mix).

As soon as some people started to set up the live PA, dancefloor filled immediatelly with people. Preparations took a while, then Junkie showed up. He started off ambiently, then progressed into danceable tunes. He was quite a performer, acting out the vocals and instruments. He also was really spontaneous. When Dirty Sticky Floors was playing, he turned it completely down and started signing tickets. Then he brought it all up. At the very end, he climbed onto PA and started twisting knobs like some kind of wacko, lol. It was hilarious. I don't think he played Tilt - The World Doesn't Know or Ridgewalkers - Find. I was there from the beginning to the end.

Somewhere in the beginning of the set I met Phil and his gf. Then Rachel came up as well. We danced our asses off. If I did not recognize someone, I apologize. It was awesome seeing you guys. Been a long time as well.

I did not make it to afterparty, since when I left my message, I forgot to leave my number as well, lol. We'll party all together very soon anyway.

Junkie XL owned me that night!!!!!!

Great night! Andrew (Zeronium for those who dont know lol) Im glad you "broke out" and actually came to the club; i really dont understand why you don't more often seeing as you are studying the field of electronic music lol! You will be hanging out with us more often here for sure!:p Anyway, Junkies set was mynt; some older tracks and some newer ones (already mentioned!) yet every one was sick. Depeche Mode remixes are my particular obsession; goosebumps every time I hear it. Was hoping to hear one of my all-time edm favorite tunes: Infusion- The Legacy (JXL mix) but I didnt unfortunately :(

Apparently Junkie has a new cd coming out sometime soon; he played a track last night (maybe 2nd to last song of his set I would say) called "Today" which is brand spanking new and is supposedly unreleased and will be on the new cd. SICK song... has male vocals and is super dancey and high energy! Cant wait to start hearing this more often.

There was an amazing vibe last night @ HOB and if youve seen Junkie perform before .. the profuse jumping/spinning/chain smoking-(no puffing aloud in HOB, only if ur Junkie i guess- the man needs his nicotine lol) he was in full effect loving every minute of it. The man is one with the audience coming up to the stage several times during his set to greet everyone and sign their fliers + cds.

Had an amazing time with everybody; I wish it could have been longer tho. Sorry about last night Stan, I didnt even realize I had a missed call until like 6am. :thepirate

Missed a few people like Hope, Jeff, James,Ben. What happened to yuo guys; wasnt the same without you!

ps. Dan the Slackerboy! I luv ya babe; great to see you again after so long! Hope to see u again soon!:toothless

i don't think we were screaming for him to play legacy loud enough :).

Huh, ok, I guess I am going to be the one to give the bad review. I'll admit, the music was ing great, but that is just about one of the worst live performances I've ever seen. Talking about making it blatantly obvious to everybody that they are just listening to a pre-recorded show. The guy spent half the night sitting on a table in front of his equipment playing air guitar and lip singing, and occasionally leaning over to make a huge show of adjusting a knob. He might as well has walked out on stage and pushed play on a CD player.

Well isn't it all about going out for the love of the music anyway. At least he put on some showmanship and didn't just hide behind his gear like some lifeless robot while playing the prerecorded stuff a la way out west.Very rare in general to see a "live " p.a show that isn't anything but prerecorded laptop symphonies.

Hey, to each there own I guess, I thought it was a horrible live performance.

The true facts can hurt. I totally agree with you man but I guess since you know what's going on, try and look past it and just enjoy yourself. Ive seen Junkie a few times and had a great time but once you have seen him....you have seen him a million times. His pre-recorded sets don't take away from his tallent when it comes to producing so try and give the man a little bit of credit. Anyways his stage presents is awesome......at least he's always doing something to get your attention.;)
