Yellow Tail 2004 (SHIRAZ) its about 12 bucks is really really good and not too expensive. I bought 4 bottles 2 weeks ago to keep but couldnt keep my hands off them and they were gone very soon!
& Casa Silva and any Wolf Blass is good...
I am not a big fan of Merlot anymore but there is some good Autrailian stuff at LCBO. |

nice thread ...
i love red wine with aussie shiraz being my favorite and obviously cab sav if theres some red meat involved
i only drink white wine to get hammered so i generally drink by the bottle but reisling and pino grigio are good on the palate
ps: i hear ppl in europe who are wine connoisseurs actually put the same in their resumes ... |

Yellow Tail is $7 US on this side of the border ;)
I used to love reds primarily, but the past couple years I've explored a lot of whites, which I did not before because most I had were too sweet, and I knew my reds wouldn't let me down.
I prefer a nice mild chardonnay, like Le Faux Frog, or Kendall Jackson's Vintner's Reserve. St. Urbans Hof Reisling is sweet to the point it's almost sparkling, but not too fruity...very nice wine.
As for other reds, my favorite is Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Villages 2001. I haven't been able to find it in forever. Regaleali and Beaulieu Vineyards' Pinot Noir are a couple others I like. |

Greg Norman Estates, 2002 Red: Merlot/Cabernet blend from Australia. Very good in the $23-25 range. A bit spicy, full bodied wonderful with lamb :) let breathe for a while before drinking.
Goats Do Roam, 2004, South Africa, Red: Very fruity and spicy, light tasting. Good to drink almost immediately after opening. $15.00
Hess, Red, 1995, don't remember where from, full bodied, sooooo dark it's completely opaque in the decanter, let breathe for 45- 1hour, $400-500.00 this bottle of wine ruined me 4 years ago. Everything since then has been nothing but a very distant, pale comparison. It was soooo smooth, no bite... Suggested: On death bed, It wouldn't be bad to go with this as your last drink. Not to mention the not ruining your wine tasting from now till forever :(
There are a ton of wicked australian shiraz's out there too!!!
I usually try 1 or 2 new bottles a week, but the Greg Norman has come back to haunt us again and again.
Cheers!!! |

| I'm not really big into wine that much, I mean I'll drink it a wedding or party if it's available but I'd rather prefer beer/liquor over wine. But in terms of wine I'd match rather prefer white wine than red since it's more juicer and not so pungant. |
