The set up really was good. When I first got in I was just dancing around in circles in awe of how much dancing room I could get compared to guv.
The way it was set up worked because it was big enough that all the people could fit easily and you could get good views of the stage from anywhere so you could be in a little tighter at the front or have oodles of dancing room elsewhere.

What a weekend LOL...where should I begin...
drive to montreal - took a little longer than expected, made a wrong turn somewhere, but an hour and a half later than scheduled we were at our hotel (hotel was nice, underground lot was, well I'm sure a shoebox is more spacious)
sunday before the party - met up with Malek and we all (Natalie, Vince, Malek and I) went for dinner. "Big Ben's Sandwich" wasn't so big, so we ended up going for a second meal LOL
later, when I tried to withdraw some cash, I find out somebody already accessed my account and to cut to the chase, I had to pull some strings to get some cash and block my account for the time being
SWIRL - got in at around midnight and as soon as I walked in I was blown away. The party was pretty much in full force by now, Christopher Lawrence was on the decks and going hard at it. Quickly met some old TAs (Chris, Dan, Mark) and some new ones (Shanny and raveed) as well as some of Natalie's friends. Shortly afterwards, I proceeded to the front (mostly on the guestlist stage).
Liebing blew me away (first time seeing him) and I was totally exhausted after his set. When Armin came on, I stuck around for about an hour or so then just crashed (damn weak pill). Kinda wandered around trying to save up enough energy to last the night and save up for Blank and Jones. Although I managed to last the night, I didn't recover enough to finish the night dancing.
Some observations about the party:
- the venue was awesome, large, lots of room to dance, massage tables, cold water easily available (free from taps), powerade/pop available, enough seating etc.
- I swear that more than 1/2 the guys there were topless, at least 70% of those had huge generic tribal tattoos and about 1/2 of them were "juice monkeys", but not a pushy crowd
- the sound was pretty crappy, lighting was OK
- everything seemed to pretty well organized, from the check to get in, to having paramedics around and security patrols (but not like at clubs here where you got bouncers pushing through the crowd to do their rounds)
monday morning - as good as the party was, by now I was feeling like crap (no sleep in awhile or food and coming down still pretty hard), as we're pulling into the parking lot, stupid tow truck driver stops and then backs into me, even as I'm honking, not much damage, but still...I was really tired and f*cked up at the time so decided it's best not to attract attention and just let it go
monday night - finally found some food, after numerous U-turns, one way streets. returned to the hotel and watched some TV before going to sleep.
tuesday - had some of the BEST breakfast ever (mmm...banana and chocolate-hazelnut crepe). Went for a quick ride around the city with Malek again and then we split.
drive to toronto - the drive was much shorter than going to montreal, no wrong turns or anything LOL, got a break too...a cop in an unmarked car followed me for like 20kms before telling me to slow down (I was going between 160-170km/hr at the time)
Overall, a great party with some "events" to spice things up
Thanks again to Malek for showing us around and Natalie for the ticket hookups.
It was nice meeting some new people (Vince, raveed, Shanny) and seeing some old faces too. |

Nice review, maxto!! :eek: :eek: that speed and no ticket?!?!! You lucky SOB!!!! Were you in Quebec at the time? In Ontario we were having our wonderful blitz; I can't believe it if you got away with it here!!! Did he pull you over?
Lucky DAWG!!! I was doing 140 and got a reduced ticket for 15 over a few months ago...:mad: |

yeah, I was still in Quebec at the time and the cops had Quebec license plates.
They didn't pull me over, what happened was...
They caught up to me after I passed a few cars in the right lane and put on his strobe lights. I then switched over to the right lane and he pulled up to my left. One of the cops signaled me to slow down while giving me one of the dirtiest looks. I slowed down a bit and they took off. |
