So I got into a fender bender the other day...

And managed to hit a GM senior exec. The damage was minor well the damage was minor the expense to me was not 1100... for like a rub mark (we didn't even know any damage was done it was dark and that minimal, until later). Which was surprising cuz they were in a saab and I was in my MINI and in the 2 other experiances (1. I was stopped at a red light and got rear ended by a Taxi, 2. My mother backed up into my brothers Expedition...) the MINI gets hammered, but no damage was done. Now while this might have cost me some money, the guy gave me his number and offered me HIS discount on any GM cars/products I'd like to buy in the future. To boot we dealt with it in cash. So $1100 in expense apparently turned into $5-20k in savings on my next GM vehicle... That Chevy cobalt SS is suddenly looking a lot prettier for less than 20k fully loaded...

business card or stfu :p

LoL I have it, but I don't think i'm going to spam it on TA. It's funny though, I never realized that unlike Chrysler & Ford, GM doesn't have a really nice brand line of cars. Saab is about as good as it gets, minus the C6 Corvette of course. But his wife was driving, apparently they have 3 Saabs now. Got into a discussion with him, nice enough guy... He's got 3 daughters, and the oldest (21 next week) can't wait to drive her pretty little 92-x convertible (company car).

I get the same deal due to my employer buying all of their company vehicles through GM.

On a low end vehicle the savings isn't that significant because the markup isn't that significant. On the higher vehicles it is amazing... one of the VPs is considering a Caddy XLR, 103K list price = 78K via the discount plan.

I'm actually seriously considering selling my MINI and getting a Corvette... that's a sick sick upgrade for the price of a brand new Cobalt SS lol.

OMG that's disgusting...and besides the XLR, partyharly, don't forget the CTS-V or the HUM-HUMMA!!!

Well if you can get a new Corvette than get it, there in awesome, if not the SS is still a sweet car
PartyHarlequin
No Hummer... if I was going to get one it would have to be the H1 which I'm not. But for the sale price of my MINI+discount+Price of new cobalt SS= C6 Corvette... screw the CTS-V

I'd keep your Mini S JCW over a Cobalt SS anyday. However, a C6 'Vette... .

Fahad, Hummers are pieces of and I wish they'd stop making them.

As an off road enthusiest I must disagree with you. The Hummer, not the H2 but the actual AMG Hummer, is a fantastic off highway vehicle. The only problem is the size.... with the width and weight it can be tough to manouver and slow to move. That said, it's almost impossible to roll, has great approach and departure angles, and can cross 5' deep water without hydro-locking.

of course for the cost of one you could buy a new Jeep TJ and hop it up to the point that it would blow a Hummer away...

See the problem is that I'm currently under my parents insurance, so everything's cheap right now. Eventually I'm going to have to change that, when I do a Cobalt SS could save me thousands/year over the MINI Cooper S JCW... Believe me I love my MINI and I'd not give it up for the world (maybe a C6 Corvette) but eventually the real world is going to come a knockin' and the MINI may be more of an inconvenience than it's worth. :(:nervous: The Vette on the other hand, I'd try and work out so it wasn't "my" car persay.

I'd take the Mini off your hands if I had the coin... Don't the JCW packages START at over $37,000? That's ing absurd if you ask me.

And yeah, speaking of Hummers, I meant the H2 and H3, not the H1. Those are alright, if they're used offroad and not to get groceries or take the kids to soccer practice. Speaking of Jeeps blowing Hummers away, my friend has a Rubicon all decked out with whatever the hell rock-crawler guys have on their vehicles, including an exo-skeleton cage. The best part is the "H2 RESCUE" sticker on his rear tailgate.
