It's not a because we can, we should premise, it's a simple fact of life. People have sex to perpetuate the human race, it's not dirty or sinful, it's natural...
And while I agree that religion and morals are two different things, people who can differentiate the two tend not to boast about their moral high ground...

You have got to be kidding me... I'm throroughly convinced 90% of TA's are either:
A. Younger than 18 years old, and lacking any formal Philospohical Education (And here come the "Actually I'm a Graduate student in Philosophy lies from the TiT's...)
or
B. Just straight up not smart enough to think about things in any other terms than literal...

^^^this, is propaganda. Virginity means absolutely nothing, there is so much grey area here it's not funny. What about rape victims, what about just being drunk and not remembering, what about homosexuality? I think people put too much emphasis on ing and not enough on the relationships. Sex is simply a benefit of a relationship, not the end-all dealbreaker that you make it out to be. Sure people become more attatched after ing and if you dont want to go there fine, but dont parade your virginity around like your better than others who have made that leap. |

I'm not a philosophy graduate, but a current student of it, so I can't look at simple literal statements without breaking them apart logically. |

if u dont "need" to validate any of your convictions, then how much validity do u have when u state your convictions and dont know why u believe in those convictions. if u dont know why u believe something, then your beliefs are based on nothing but faith and faith doesnt cut it.
u dont need a philosophy major to debate philosophy. u just have to be well informed and know your beliefs and why u believe them.

PS yes, I studied philosophy for 2 years. weeeeeeeeee. The proof is in the pudding though as they say, and whether or not youve taken formal logic has nothing to do with how logical you are or your arguments are.
Take you for example. Bringing up age like its a sure fire way to prove something. Or that a TiT will claim it there fore the TiT must be lying and is neccesarily un taught in logic...
A LOT of assumptions goin on there.
Point of all this is that you seem offended by the fact some people are glad they dodged the bullet with some ty relationships, yet look forward to a sexually active fulfilling one in the future.

I'm not sure if I can agree with you there. Breaking a law in general doesn't have anything to do with morality. There are some really stupid laws out there. A government can really make any laws it pleases, but it doesn't mean that they're moral etc. |

i agree with this. i respect everyone's right to wait or to not wait, but neither decision makes you better than anyone else.
it's a personal choice, and it shouldn't be paraded around as a public bandwagon. i know it's all in good fun, though, so i'm not gonna stress it. you virgins know i <3 ya (you know who you are). |
