who has ever left a number for a waiter/waitress for a date or something where you were interested and had them call afterwards? i've thought about doing that before, but i don't wanna be stupid hehehe....

well i just hate the fact that the only way you can really make friends (other than the stunt i pulled last night) is by either working with someone, or being friends with their bf/gf, etc...it's like you don't have choice really and people just grow on you.

i've run into cool chicks before and then kicked myself for not saying, "hey we should hang out sometime" and never got their number.

we DO go to that restaurant a lot when there's a good game on, so if she doesn't call me i'll feel nervous going there again. haha she probably told all her co-workers, "hey this chick gave me her number she was with a guy though, i dunno if she was trying to pick me up or what..."

then i'll go in there again and they'll all be talking ...

"there she IS!"

hahahha

working at a restuarant is funny...you'd be surprised at what the servers are saying about you.

"hey man, did u see the big at table 9 w/ that fat old dude? man check out her in ring, that's like 9 karats, bla bla bla"

one thing about people working in the service industry (waiters/waitresses/bartenders/etc) is that they probably get hit on all the time. i've never bothered to try to hit on a waiter or bartender just because i'm sure they have to deal with drunk people throwing themselves at them all the time. i've had to witness numerous instances where my co-worker would try to hit on a female bartender and she would politely shrug him off and just go back to her job.

didn't someone else do that on here? the thread turned out to be like 14 pages long or something. weather or not he should hook up with some cute waitress at CPK

edit
for lucid's post
i see hot bartenders all the time...and i try really hard not to make them feel like i'm flirting with them. but i really dont think i do flirt so i wouldn't know. like the other day i was at a bar with my friends and GOD DAMN these 2 bartenders were gorgeous...but i didn't want to be typical drinking customer and hit on them lke my friends...just weird is all

hahah ok i had to start a thread about it, sorry...this is cheesy.

so i went to this steakhouse/sports bar for dinner last night for the heat game and i took a quarter xanax (had a couple left from the weekend) so i wouldn't have to drink as much...

so i get there and i have a couple beers and i'm a little buzzed and our waitress was like totally adorable and sweet, and i couldn't stop looking at her (not in a gay way, but just like, "wow she seems really cool" type of way). so anyway i paid for dinner and my debt card is from Navy Federal from when i had that account in high school when i lived on a military base..so she's like, "are u in the military" and i told her no and she told me about her cousin in the navy, and we went back and forth and stuff and bla bla bla... and when she first took our order i told her she looked exactly like natalie portman (she really did look a lot like her) but she didn't know who natalie portman was, and she was like, "i don't watch tv, i just always have music on"...so she got bonus points for that...i asked what kind of music and she said she listens to everything...

soooo

before i left, i wrote on the receipt that if she wants to hang out she should call me and i left my number! :stongue:

do u think she'll think i'm gay or something? i don't think i would have done that if i wasn't all barred out and buzzed. lol

was that gay? be honest guys, i can take it....

Who cares if she thinks it's gay? You aren't gay and meant well by it, and she should take it that way. Although talking about her looking like Natalie Portman might give her a gay vibe. Were you with guys or girls?

that's EXACTLY why i've never done it hehe. i'm sure they get jerks flirting and grabbing and asking them out all the time. now obviously i'm not a jerk, but i don't want to be lumped into the same category hehehe...but it sucks because man i've had some really beautiful waitresses that seem really cool that i would've liked to get to know better hehe...

its all an act dude...they HAVE to be nice/cool a little flirtatious. more tipz0r, unless they are just genuienly nice...but i usually feel like they're doing it on purpose and being OVERLY nice

I really sympathize. I'm picky about friends, and the chances I'll happen to just "bump into" someone who fits the bill through work or a mutual acquaintence are pretty slim. So when I do meet someone I think might be a good friend, I'd definitely be willing to be a little weird in order to make that a possibility.
