I thought Sasha was fantastic...dark, dirty, all bass. One of the few tracks I recognized was Rulers of The Deep - Last Survivor (Buick Project Instrumental). It was all stuff like this. If you are into the melodic Sasha or the bleepy Sasha it probably wasnt what you were looking for. His set/tracks had lots of cool drops & buildups. As for Ableton -- since I didnt know many tracks to begin with it was hard to tell what he was doing to them. Though you could kind of tell that they were chopped up (played only 2-3 min per track). I liked it better than Maida Vaile - it was much more dancey.

Thats also the best I've seen Steve do but he did not own Sasha. Had so much fun upstairs that I didnt even check out Kaskade.

Gah I really wish I could've made it, it sounds like Sasha played the way I really like him to play ...

Edit - Thanks jonze :)

glad i didn't go, actually. i love Sasha but i find his darker proggy sets a bit boring. i don't mind listening to them when i'm chillin' and relaxing at home, or at work, but when i'm out, i need more melodies and buildups to keep me stimulated. (of course, this is all just assumptions based on people's reviews - since i wasn't actually there i am just going by what people are saying he played like)

so, in the words of b2t... it sounds like it wasn't such a "trancey treat" :stongue:

If you like really dark prog, I guarantee this would have been a great night for you...

Like I said before, Sasha was technically really impressive, and I'm sure a ton of people had a great time, my thoughts were just based on my own tastes... I knew Lucas was loving every minute of it, dude had a grin on his face the whole night :D

Well I would definetly have to agree that the heat was out of control. didnt make it downstairs cuz i was too busy enjoyin sasha's dirty set. Me and my friends drove down from Ann Arbor and barely got there in time for sasha's set. Sux i missed porter but i loved sashas set. In reference to someone saying that he played a whole bunch of involver tunes... Im pretty sure he didnt. I do know he did play bloodlock from airdrawn real quick. That was killer. And i did love the dark proggy set, real different from the last time i saw him.

Anyone see a guy in jeans glasses and a pink polo shirt breaking it down on the dance floor? That was me!

Also for the guy who took the videos, i showed up 20 min into sasha's set was the first two videos of the opening and before i showed up? thanks.

One more can anyone id the video 133_3310, its a real funky tune that i absolutely loved and neeeed to get on vinyl. JOnze which videos did u id?

The video 133_3328 also seems real familiar anyone id?
