June Mix

(right-click save as..)
I definately spent the most time on this mix than I have any other mix. I just seem to be getting pickier and pickier with track selection/levels/transitions/progression etc. It's still not perfect in my eyes, but alas, my self-inflicted deadline. This mix is chock full of awesome tracks. The mix starts with Blue Tubes by Hydroid which I layered a little vocal stripped from Mogwai - Yes I am a Long Way From Home. Hydroid is definately one of my favorite producers, and he is just starting out! I have to actually prevent myself from using too many of his tracks. ^_^ Mike Foyle's mix of LNQ - People I Used To Know is a ing awesome track; that Mike Foyle has a BIG future, good work Mike. The original mix of Jose Amnesia vs Serp - Second Day is also an awesomely emotional tune. If you notice, I layer a high hat in the track until that great synth comes in on the breakdown, not a big deal but I hope it gives that synth a greater focus. At the end I add a bit of a bonus with an outro edit of Fischerspooner - Never Win just to spice up my formula. Way Out West's Dustbiter mix of Don't Forget Me and Superpitcher's mix of Don't Save Us From the Flames are also superb vocal tracks worth mentioning.
1. Hydroid - Bluetubes (intro mix) + Mogwai - Yes I am a Long Way From Home
2. LNQ - People I Used To Know (Mike Foyle Remix)
3. Purple Haze - Adrenaline
4. Max Graham - Automatic Weapon
5. Way Out West - Dont Forget Me (Way Out Wests Dustbiter Mix)
6. Jose Amnesia vs Serp - Second Day (Original Mix)
7. Perry O'Neil - Myst (Hydroid and Santiago Nino Mix)
8. Subsphere - My Precious
9. Jonas Steur - Silent Waves
10. Mat Leutwyler & Jason Suzuki - The Contended Gastronome (Kosmas Epsilon Mix)
11. M83 - Dont Save Us From the Flames (Superpitcher Remix)
12. Fischerspooner - Never Win (Outro-Edit)
If you know about the Santiago Nino incident then you may be wondering why I have a track in the mix this month partly collaborated by him. Well, I mostly have that track to support Hydroid obviously, for right now I am only boycotting Santiago's EPs. If you don't know about the incident, PM me and I will tell you all about it. ;) Also if anyone wants a copy of the stripped vocal from the Mogwai tune give me a good ol' PM. Sorry it's a bit late this month, but I hope you enjoy the mix, and as always your comments are greatly appreciated.
Thanks a bunch,
Jason Nugent

Yet another blissful mix from Metraton. Awesome mix man!
I would make comments on transitions and all that stuff related to mixing but I know nothing about such terminology. Even if I knew, I'm guessing all the comments would be positive. All I can say is the track selection is almost perfect(I'm not a big fan of the last track, sorry). I just love the vocals in the Way Out West track. Good stuff. I wish I could comment on all tracks because all are great but I'm short on time.
Perfect flow. From beginning to second to last track, for me. :D From beginning to end, seriously. The work and/or preparation you put in these mixes really show.
I'm first to post? There should be a lot of comments by now! But I'm glad I'm the first.
BUMP! :p |

:D Thanks for the great feedback ierxium! I'm really glad you like my mixes pretty consitently, it's nice to hear what you think. Yes the last track is very differen't but I think it ends the set really well. Just be glad that I edited out about 70% of the song. :p
I was wondering, is it Delerium or Conjure One that is coming out with a new album this summer? Either one would be sweet. :)

Wow, a set full of quality tunes. Technically great. Couldn't spot any flaws in mixing. Smooth transitions, good track selection, just great groove from the beginning. Thanks for this, enjoyed a lot :)
btw. I remember Serp aka Dj Dave B posting his music in TA demos section few years back. First time I heard his new material, awesome stuff :) |

Yeah that track is sweet, love that synth in the breakdown. I've haven't actually heard anything else from Serp (aka Dave B) but will definately look for his name in the future. |

:D nice.
I was actually hoping it was Conjure One, the first CD was an archtype, and will go down in history as one of the most original and revolutionary albums of the new millennium IMO. Although I'm a bit worried the new one won't live up to it's older brother. We'll see. :)

| time well spent on this mix. probably my favorite of metatron's to date (i seem to always say that, haha). the vocal layering is perfect. the vocals go so well with that song, and the lyrics are awesome aswell. i really liked that way out west song, of course :P and also the superpitcher remix of that m83 song puts me in a "trance-like state" haha. oh and nice on the encore, not the best song, but for an encore it works very well. i'm so tempted to burn this on a few cds and just start passing it out at clubs, we'll see. as always, keep it up. i love it. |
