New club idea

I have had this idea for a while but i've been thinking more about it lately. I hope that possibly in the future, like 10 to 15 years out, I could team up with some people and create a new club. Now I will admit not having been to many clubs so there may be clubs like this, and I have seen many videos of clubs in Ibiza. I think it would be cool to create a club in the desert somewhere (possibly nevada) not too far from a big city (possibly las vegas), but far enough so it would be possible to have a much larger club-experience.

How this club would differ from other clubs that I am aware of is the prevelance of large, i-max like screens that would surround the mainfloor. The place would also look like a temple, with something that resembles a pyramid. The inside would look like stone, except with a polish that makes it look modern. The place would have many rooms (not sure how many, possibly three or four). This includes the mainfloor being used for the more energetic and epic sets and or just big name DJs.

The other rooms would have some lesser known DJs spinning other forms of music, with possibly different themes in each room. There would also be plenty of room for outdoor events, so this would combine the best of both the festival experience and the club experience. I'll add more later but I am really wondering what other ideas fellow TAs might have for a new club.

heh, there really is no easy way to put a large club out in teh desert here. For one, vegas relies heavily on tourist, who like hip hop. and another, they dont' have electricity/plumbing/sanitary/ anything out there.

although there are some pretty cool desert raves thrown with generators.

Yeah if its not in the desert then somewhere other than urban areas. Too many clubs in my opinion are stuck in congested areas that aren't always the safest places, especially in America with curfews as to how long the party can go on (2:00 AM usually). They don't have enough space and if they were in an area with a large open space they could have larger events, like Trance Energy or Dance Valley. An all in one package basically. Now its not like there would be these events all the time, but large outdoor events a few times a year, but the mainfloor and other rooms two or three times out of a week with one big name DJ a week like most clubs have.
Nic
what were you planning to show on these imax like screens?

"A typical IMAX film's production costs fall somewhere in the range of $3 million to $8 million for a 2-D feature, and $8 million to $15 million for 3-D"

movie screens might be a better idea :P

Yea, for imax size and ratio n blablabla u need all that special film n cameras n stuff.
Nic
what would be cool is a club where the lighting fx were all in 3d, bubbles floating around and stuff :D

So true

but Ps: Spirit5

I have come here to present you something you may not know.
This here is the Enter key. Please become accustomed to it. And use it plentifully

Otherwise in regards to your idea something like that apart from the whole iMax idea will run you in the millions. Yeah not so cheap.

In regards to visuals you can do work of high end quality at starting costs of around 5 grand without jumping to some iMAx.

I think it's also best to be realistic and to get your feet wet working in the club world before ever even considering starting a place yourself.

If you don't you may well make the place crash and burn in a record amount of time like so many places run by newbies do.

Also the viability of a clubbing complex is slim due to maintenance costs involved, relative distance to regular clubbing spots.
