just got home from this. i thought it was a pretty good show.
kyle:
i showed up kind of late into kyle's set but man was it great. when i got to the sky room nathan fake - sky was pink (i think thats the name of the song) was playing. the crowd was eating it up. then he went into yooshi - do what you du (trentroller remix) and the place went nuts. i wish i would have shown up earlier to hear more of his set.
tiesto:
well i went into this with mediocre expectations after reading the reviews from the last show. however, i thought this was a pretty good show. he seemed to be drinking in moderation. maybe he read the review from the last show and decided to cut back. his mixing was typical tiesto, some decent mixes some good mixes. track selection was nothing earth-shattering but he gave the crowd what they wanted. i had a good time laughing at the video screen because they kept showing trains and all i could think about was the chop of tiesto's magikal trainwreck. there were a couple bad things about the night. for one it was so f*cking hot in there, but theres not much they can do when theres that many people jammed into that room. and there was a douche bag standing next me that kept screaming "its tiesto its tiesto". then he gets the urge to call everyone in his phonebook and yell "oh my god im at tiesto im at tiesto".
overall: was it worth the money to go, probably not. i think as long as you didnt go into vision thinking this was going to be some god-like experience then you should have had a good time. and i think kyle's set was better.
oh and i got to meet seneca for like 5 seconds when he was recording a video. |

| i came in about 1 pm and by 1:45 tiesto took over the decks. it was so hot and stuffy that i had to pack up and leave after a couple of hours. however tiesto did know what he was doing and was sober. as usual he started the set slowly with his swirling pads and went on playing some uplifting melodic stuff.later he switched back to the normal boring stuff. maybe the crowd didnt like uplifting melodic stuff. if you liked the ISOS series then maybe you would have enjoyed part of it, since most of the themes where from ISOS. transitions where okay, but he could have done better and thats whats he is good at. and he didnt try any of his cool electronic bleeps and squiches. overall i thought it was a standard set. kind of like trying to keep it safe. but it was really difficult to enjoy because of the heat and the crowd and the smoke. whatever happned to the ventilation?? and this time i felt something was wrong with the sound system. the bass sounded all rt, but the mids where not that clear enough. or maybe it was just me. so i came back home and played my syth a bit and went to sleep. and by the way i was smelling like a smoked tuna. so much smoke, yuck! |

well as most, I went into this without a ticket and somewhat enebreated with low expectations. Luckily I only shelled out the 15 for the side dome room and got to hear tiesto and see him on the screen untill the last 30 min which me and my friend joined the packed room. This was huge being able to fully move around the three floors and not being packed in a wall to wall stuffy room with too much smoke.
I havent heard ISOS 4 but im assuming its more epic melodic trance (almost old oakenfoldish) and he played probably most of ISOS 4 for the first two hours. I loved this part because it was different that his usual style of banging track after bangin track, with bad mixin. or "the cheese."
But it was an awsome show from my standpoint, being able to dance fully and break it down without being shoved in the side room, even though they started with hip hop while smurzlo was on.
As for songs ill give you what i know which is mostly old tunes.
Traffic (obviously)
BT - forces of nature (some new remix)
Tiesto - Nyana (some strange remix)
Marco V - some new bangin track
Tiesto - Love comes again (new remix)
F Massif - Understatement (bangin)
For the encore he played some Adagio into Praiseworthy tunes into some new track which blew the crowd away.
Like i said def worth 15 bucks i paid, and it was a sweet show, besides a couple patented train wrecks. |

of course kyle's set was better than tiesto's - was there ever any doubt that it wouldn't be? all i know is that when i got off work and headed upstairs to see kyle he dropped yooshi - do what you du (trentroller remix) and i was a happy girl!!!!!! first time hearing that track on a big sound system and it did not disappoint - kyle threw down a stellar set IMO. hope all of you ta's got to catch part of his set and will now go out and support your local dj's - there are so many great local dj's. :)
tiesto's set was boring - the only tracks that i remember are traffic and ancient history - like everyone else stated - it looks like tiesto was under control last night (ie he wasn't drunk off his rocker) and was able to at least put a few records on the turntables.
yes - it was hot, but what do you expect when the club was at capacity starting at 10:30?
btw - i was the girl working the vip presale ticket line - so if you got vip presale tickets you met me without even knowing it! :wtf: heard someone was able to sell his presale ticket for over $100 - now that is insane!!!!!! |

Exactly what I was expecting to hear... straight up boredom... and this is coming from the girl who said you'd have to pay her to go to Armin and then ate her words after the show (So you know she's at least willing to give him a shot)!
Nicely done... |

| wouldn't have gone to see tiesto if i wasn't working last night - and i ended up leaving at 3:00 am - couldn't take the boredom any longer. for me to leave early from a show - that says A LOT for me - i almost never leave until the very end. |
