I do some of my best thinking in the bathroom. But I only pee and it’s pink and smells like flowers. :D i do a lot of thinking in the shower too...the bathroom is my sanctuary.

I think everyone does their best thinking in the bathroom. I usually just end up reading Maxim though.

Sounds like the making of a perfume that will sell in millions :D

As for the glass half empty/full, I take a more logical approach:

If it is being filled up, and that stops halfway, then it is half full.

If someone has been drinking/pouring it out and it is halfway, then it is half empty.

If I do not know the current state (ie. walk into a room and the glass is there with no one around), logic dictates that it is most likley half empty as the chances of someone having been drinking it are greater than someone have been filling it up, unless its right by a bottle/the sink)

Can anyone tell I am on my lunch break? :D

your body can pretty much cope with any disease by itself, how efficiently it can handle those situations is upto things like seratonin levels and the general chemical activity in your mind

positive thinking (not of the kind where you dellude yourself) CAN cure you of various ailments

To quote the great Canadian former PM Jean Chretian "Where's da proof? I mean da proof is da proof an' if dere is da proof an' it is da good proof den it is proven." Unless you can cite studies that prove positive thinking cures disease then all you have is anectotal, non-coroborated, stories of unexplained recovery that may or may not be corollated to a positive state of mind.

i am basing my words on studies, im just not the kind that cba to dig them up.

i've seen some both on discovery and on several online sources

mmm, i'm in a great mood today! it's just one of those days when you wake up and everything falls into place perfectly. woke up at 6:40 and laid on the couch for an hour reading my book, then showered and got ready and my hair looks perfect today so i dressed nicely (denim capris, brown sandals, and a white button down), left a silly love note on a post-it on the bathroom mirror for my bf to see when he wakes up, stopped at Speedway for a coffee (some guy told me i had the most beautiful eyes, which was sweet but sort of creepy), and enjoyed my coffee and a cigarette on the drive to work while listening (and dancing in the drivers seat) to Armin Van Buuren - Serenity, and enjoying the warm sunny weather!

to the thread starter - just remember we all have our good days and our bad days. without the bad days, the good days wouldn't be as special. you'll get through it and everything will work out in the end. just be patient and don't worry!

I have had no exposure to these studies therefore I will not comment on their validity or conclusions. I will end my involvement in this thread by stateing that the power of positive thought to cure illness has yet to be proven to me and therefore I cannot allow myself the luxury of believing in said power. I will, however, accept that a poor attitude or negative thought can act as a barrier to recovery.
