| The first half I liked right away. The second half grew on me a bit, but the end it a bit slow placed for me, just seems like a really long buildup. I was hoping there would be more vocals in the Strict Machine mix! |

Big fan of this cd. It took about two listens to get used to the whole electro-feel mixed with prog house. Though, it has nothing on Involver. Involver was a class of its own.
As for the people who say this sounds ten times better on a nice sound system (not a large and lound one, just a highquality one) you are totaly correct. Not that it sounds bad on crappy computer speakers or minisystems, its just that listening to this kind of electro-prog or any forms of prog with lots of deep basslines, sounds so much more intense and lively on nice sound systems or a pair of really nice headphones. And am I the only one who likes the new Holden? It could use a remix of some sort, but the melody and vocals are totally awsome. Weakest part of the CD is the intro. Not a big fan of the whole sci-fi-machine-robots voice thing. Four Squares is a great opener as proven on WOWs last mix album. Still each time I listen to Four Squares on Fundacion, I keep on waiting for Stinger to come in, but it doesn't :D |

I'm so surprised at all the negative reviews for this cd. This cd is truly amazing and original. First of all, the mixing is among the most smooth and creative I have ever seen.
It's great that with the Albeton system he doesn't have to worry about beatmaching, but can focus purely on the blending. And he blends to such perfect effect, mixing one baseline with another drumline, or leaving an effect from one song playing almost entirely throughout another song. Of course this has been done before, but never which such perfection or sounding so good. I read a complaint that the whole cd sounds like a single prog house track. But that's what a great mix does, maintain a consistent, flowing feel to it the whole time.
Sasha is great at selecting a wide variety of tracks, but assembling them into a mix that still sounds so fluid through his incredible mixing ability.
His track selection maintains an atmosphere that really hooks you in the more and more you listen to it. The album starts pretty slow but quickly builds into its peaks. Whats so great about the tracks is that they're so unpredictable. You'll think a certain beat is coming in, or a certain melody is coming in, but the tracks or so unique you can't ever figure what to expect. Only after repeatedly listening to the album you can get a sense of where the tracks go - and you really appreciate their creativity.
Listening to this album is like watching a really complex movie like Mulholland Drive - the more you listen the more details you notice and the more you figure it out. |

my main problem with this album is that it's too long and it lacks something which is hard to describe, it's very well produced and it DOES sound very good. You clearly recognize the Sasha touch... but still, it lacks something and I always get bored at a point when I listen to it.
I still can't point out why I don't like it that much, it might have to be the flow of the whole thing...
Ah well, at first I didn't like Involver either and it grew on me like hell afterward, let's hope it will be the same with Fundacion.
And anyway, even though Fundacion isn't Sasha's best work, it still proves that the man is over the top in the EDM scene. |

From all the bad comments about this mix, i was expecting something pretty bad when i first listened...once past the intro my god....what are people having trouble with here? Its absolutely gorgeous!! The Sasha ambience is still present but in a slighty different tone, i'm just loving this mix!!
+ i agree with those about listening to this on a quality sound system - it comes alive, the bass just feels so warm :cool: |

Bought mine two days ago.
First listen was just ok thru-out xcept the two JH tracks moments which were great.
Second listen was much better... probly due to the fact that I played it in the living room which was at a louder volume.
Third listen I start to 'understand' and get the flow in this CD...starts off with a intro...then slowly builds up with several tracks until the middle of the CD. It starts to 'peak' with a kinda electro feel. Last 2-3 tracks were more like an outro to the whole CD.
Need more time to grow on this!
Those JH tracks are defo my favs in this CD at the moment. May add more to the favs :) |
