| ok guys i just made my first mix and i would like to burn that on a cd , but how do i creat a cue file ? |

What is a .cue file, and how do I use it? I hear it's some way of
breaking up a complete CD or something?

well this site dont have much to do with cue files...but here's an useful site that explains ripping, encoding and stuff like that...
(i learned of it in the forums and just spreading the wealth...this site got a LOT of useful info and stuff us TA's could definitely use)

a cue file is basically a text file that tell the burning program where to put track marks.. For instance, I have Voyage into Trance as one huge file but I dont want to split it up. Usually, for albums at least, you can find a cue file. These can be used with lots of burning programs such as CDRWin (i use it and it has been just fine) to burn the who file as a audio cd with track marks. You can also just write up a generic cue file and have a travk every 5 mins so you dont have to scan forward 40 minutes to get where you were last time you were listening to this or that mix.. anyways, in CDRWin, when you are in the burn cd window, there is a "load cuesheet" option. al you do is point to the cuesheet.
** usually before this will work you need to do 2 things:
1. make sure the file and cue are in the same directory
2. before anything happens, edit the cuesheet with notepad and in the first few lines there will be an area with "filename:" (or something to that effect) and you need the name of the file you are burning to match the name in the ""'s..
so there you go, cuesheets in a nutshell!

Sorry, I cannot help you there. But what did you use to for outputting the cuesheet? Did you manually indexed each track?
I'm new to this cueing. My setup is:
1. Mix Meister (mixes exported to separate .wav files)
2. CueEd 2000 (easy drag and drop the .wav files, preps up the cuesheet for CDRWIN)
3. CDRWIN
I'll figure this out by the time someone has an answer. :p

Since having continous trouble with CdR-win
i thought i would give Nero ago,
As i said before in the other thread, im trying to put Dj Fuzion - A tale of two sounds on Cd With a cue sheet,
So i goto burn image, select the cue file, which i have made sure has the same file name and the mp3, and it has the same name written inside the cue file, and then i get this:
Why??!
Someone help me!

hmmm, it seems like people think that using a cue sheet or mp3 cutting prog is the only way to cut up sets easily. here is what i do if i can't get the cue sheet working properly the first time. it only takes about 3 minutes longer to do than using a cue sheet, its fool-proof, and you get the exact same effect. this is only for NERO tho...
what will this accomplish? this will allow you to take a set/album that is all one big mp3, and burn it in audio mode onto a cd-r. it will have track indexes (so you can flip from track to track) without gaps or crackles when the track changes. :)
open up your cue sheet in Notepad, leave it open in the background. once nero is opened up, and you have put the set you want to burn into the "compilation window"...
1. double-click on the file in the compilation window.
2. the "audio track info" window will pop-up, click the "indexes, limits, split" tab.
3. click in the "oscilloscope" area, somewhere near the end (a line will show up on the oscilloscope).
4. click the "split" button.
5. click the "edit" button.
6. the "edit split position" window will pop-up, read the time of the split from your cue-sheet, and type it into the this window. then click "ok".
*repeat 4-6 until all the indexes are how they should be.*
7. click "ok" on the "audio track info" window. it will ask you if "you really want to split up this file into blah blah pieces", click "yes". it will take a minute or two for your comp to process this step, so just let it work.
8. once your back in the compilation window, select every track (by holding down "ctrl" and single-clicking) except for the first track, then double-click on them.
9. the "audio track info" window will pop-up, set the "pause" to 0 seconds, and press "ok". once back in the compilation window, make sure that the first track has a pause of 2 seconds, and all the rest have a pause of 0 seconds.
10. make sure your compilation is set to "disc-at-once" mode. you do this in: file/compilation info/burn then select "disc-at-once" from the "write method" menu.
*if you're going to burn it again someday, you can save all this as a nero compilation file. but when you open the compilation file, make sure the mp3 is in the same directory as it was when you saved the compilation file, and it'll do all this automatically.*
i'm not trying to insult anyone's intelligence, but i couldn't figure out why people were making such a big deal about cue sheets not working properly. so i thought maybe they didn't know about this way. it only takes a couple minutes, so if you're stuck, give it a try.

Youre not insulting my inteligence at all, i have had nero about 2 days now, so im not gonna be an expert on it, i have been using easy cd creater, which is a great program but doesnt support cue sheets 'n' like that,
anyway , ill give that ago !

also check out the "filters" tab, you can use equalizers, fade-in, fade-out, and alot more in there...
