| when I load up PVD's mayday 2000 mp3 into nero, it says it is only 49 minutes long when it is actually 59 minutes. I cannot edit the tracks in Nero because of this. I also can't burn it with the CUE file because it thinks the file is like 400 minutes long. Can anybody help me out? Thanks |

I have Fireburner, as CDRWIN does not detect my driver, so forget about that one. On fireburner, im trying to actually CUE my Gemini Projekt mixes, and whicever other mix, and Albums I have. The thing is that it Askes me for a BIN image, something that I dont know what it is, and I dont know where to look for. What do I do ? Do I need to Convert the MP3 file into WAV first ? is that the BIN ?
It goes like that. I load the Mp3 file, then I load the CUE, right after it ASKES to load a BIN file. thats where I get stuck, PLEASE HELP IS NEEDED ! ! ! ! ! ! URGENTLY ! |

A BIN file is just a binary image file, using Fireburner i'm not sure, but using Nero you drag the MP3 file into the new Audio window, as if you are making an Audio CD, then you choose the Image recoder instead of the CDRW, and burn the image, when it is burned, just rename it to .BIN.
rember to changet the file name on your cuesheet. file "filename.bin" BINARY
I'm guessing it will be a similar process with Fireburner. |

I should add that you then burn the .cue using your newly made BIN file, not the MP3

OK... Here's a question to keep the grey matter oiled... :D
I load the cue file in cdr-win and when i click start recording i get an error message:

i think it means try another blank cd :)
ok here is my question:
i have 2 short mp3 live sets, each with their own cue files. how can i join them or burn them together on one cd? |

ok i don't use the programs you are using so i don't know how much help this is.
1) as far as i know it doesn't matter if your file is mp3 or wav unless the burner can't handle one of those formats. it doesn't matter to the cue file if it is mp3 or wav unless you have specified it one way or another.
2) what do you mean by add the cue sheet? it is a seperate file with the track time information so if you want to burn a long file you can split it up. you don't combine it with the audio file or anything.
3) yes it is supposed to look like this. like i said it is a seperate file with the information. you don't combine it or add it to anything. you can get a plug in for winamp called mp3cue i think, this allows you to either make a cue file and save it or load one already made and use it like the normal winamp playlist.
4) it doesn't really matter when you make the cue file. if you want to copy ISOS 1 onto your computer as one file, a program called "Exact Audio Copy" will do this and make a cue sheet for you. You can leave it as a wav file or it can make an mp3 if you have LAME or another mp3 encoder. then when you have the file (either wav or mp3) and the cue sheet (however you made it/obtained it) start your burning program. if it can use cue files there should be an option to load cue file or something. maybe 'load image' and then load the cue file and see what happens.
i use cdr-win for cue files, there aren't any problems with it unless the cue file/mp3 or wav/blank cd is stuffed in some way or another.

ok here is an example of a cue file, hope it might explain a few things. i think there is information about it in the help file of cdrwin also.
like already explained, a cue file is just a text file with track time information for a cd. if you have one big audio file but don't want to have to listen through it all or hold down the skip button to go through it, you can make a cue file which allows you to use the cd like any other audio cd, it has seperate tracks.
there is a number of ways to make a cue file. you can type it up in notepad, use plug ins for winamp, or use a program to make one for you. however for each example you will need to know when you want the tracks to be seperated.
the cue file is a seperate file, you dont add it or combine it somehow with the audio file you use, but the two can be linked if you specify a file name in the cue file.
all the cue file needs to burn a cd is the individual track times and the file name/type. if your player has cd text or you want to be more specific you can add details such as the title and performer of the cd and each individual track.

the red parts are optional, you don't need that information but you might like to include it :)
FILE "faithless - live in berlin.mp3" MP3
this line is important, it tells the program what you are burning. without it you can't burn the cd. also note "MP3" at the end, this specifies the type of file. you can also have WAVE and AIFF. you can specify a path if you want but you don't need it unless the files are not in the same directory.
TRACK 02 AUDIO
TITLE "She's My Baby"
PERFORMER "Faithless"
INDEX 01 06:42:00
these lines are the track information for this track. it says this is for track 2 of the file, and it is an AUDIO track. it doesn't have to be audio but this is what we are concerned with here so we don't need to worry about other types. there is also the title and performer of the track specified. you dont need this but it might look nicer, and you can have it like this too if you want:
TITLE "Faithless - She's My Baby"
the next line is also important, it specifies where the track STARTS in the file. the time is in minutes:seconds:frames. there are 75 frames in a second and they aren't really necessary unless you are being very specific, or using a program with the file as a wave to select the point (i just listen to when i want it and write down the time). the "01" or "1" means this is where the track starts, if you use "0" you specify a pre-gap, ie the 2 second gap between tracks on some cds i think.
now i use cdrwin to burn live sets but the process should be the same or at least similar for any other programs, providing they support cue files. just select to burn an audio cd and go to open file or open image or something and load the cue file. it should load the information (tracks, length of cd) and then you should just be able to burn it without any worries.
