Just for the fact that they went to penalties and extra time was exciting cuz both teams were playing one man short does not make it such an excellent game. 90 of soccer were boring. Both teams played very chippy, argentina doesn't usually play this style, they play more open and use their wings a lot. When Aimar came on, every time he touched the ball he was fouled. Coloccini? WTF was that?? That should have been a red card!!! I'm an argentina fan but i must say the ref missed a call. Two fists in the face is too much!! Lot of respect for the Mexican squad but I'm just happy Argentina escaped. Brazil will win confederations cup, no question about it. They have the full squad minus Carlos, Argentina is still missing 4 starters from next year's world cup. Brazil on tuesday, but Argentina next summer!!!

To Coloccini's defence, he was tackled by Borghetti, he stumbled, and while trying to get to the ball somehow, he ran into the mexican dude. But yeah, he could have done more to prevent the collision so i think the ref made the right call. (A yellow)

True. But anytime you rub your two fists vs the other guy's face should be a red. It was a nasty looking challenge. The poor Mexican dude lost a lot of blood.

I don't think it was intentional though, under the circumstances. If he meant to flail his arm and hit the guy in the face, then yeah. red is deserved, plus suspension. Unlike those two red cards late in the game.

I may be a bit biased but not impressed by Brazil's play on saturday vs. my Germany. All 3 of Brazil's goals where basically scored by Germany. The First a trick free kick that was not tricky at all. It was defelected of a German Defender. The Second a Penalty Kick which is a gimmy. The Third poor defending by the same inexperienced defender who caused the penalty kicks.

And to all the Brazil supporters they are the best team but thet where not as impresive as usual!

Good luck on Wednesday!!

First of all, penalty kicks are never a gimmy!! You may think that but I played soccer all my life including several games in the cpsl and trust me, with all the pressure sometimes, it's not that easy. And at the world level, it's even more pressure on these guys, just ask Robberto Baggio. Plus the goalies are really good at that level, it's not easy to score past them. Anyhow, Adriano's free kick, even though it deflected a bit, Lehman was still at fault b/c the ball never really changed directions that much, only a lil bit and Lehman went down before the ball even deflected off the defender. Last goal by Adriano was a pure skill play, when he faked going right and went left. Yes I totally agree that Robert Huth is not a good defender, but at the same time, you can't take it away from Adriano. He's pure class, if not one of the best strikers in the world at this moment. It wasn't the best of games from Brazil, but it wasn't a bad game. They played well, distributed the ball well, and had 54% of possesion of the game, which is not that easy vs the German squad.

Lehmann guessed according to the trajectory of the ball after it was struck. It's a split second decision, but that split second of delay may cost him a goal as the ball is travelling pretty damn fast. So yeah, a slight deflection is enough to screw a goalie over. Actually, the ball looked like it might hit the top right corner, but it ended up in the middle of the goal after the deflection, so it's quite a large deflection when you think of it.

He's good, but after his injury in dec, he hasn't been very consistent. I wouldn't put him as one of the best strikers in the world. Not yet anyways. (He's still pretty young)

Guy I played soccer most of my Youth too at the Rep. level and I think the advantage on a penalty kick goes to the penalty kick taker and not the keeper.

Just look a the Matches that are decided on Kicks.
It is decided on who misses or put it in the keepers reach!

well if brazil face argentina in the finals, guess whos got history in their favor

neither... Brazil won 33 games, Argentina won 33 games, and they tied 24 times I think.

Brazil is not playing its best, im not too happy with how things are going... sure we are winning, but we are not even close to our potential. The defence is just horrible, Rocky Junior and Lúcio cant do . The middle with Kaka is doing a fine job i think, but the offense is having some dificulties. Parreira is a good couch, but cant put a team toguether if his life depended on it.

Wont be surprised if we loose to Argentina once again, anyways, should be a great game, too bad ill be at work

Maybe theyll let us watch the game hehe
