@TheNobleEu: You've really got a knack for being irritating/pissing people off. |

Why do you have this anti EU constitution obsession btw, you dont seem to know a lot :conf: |
You're confused all right. I guess you've never read my sig. How you could conclude I've an "anti EU constitution obsession" is one of the larger fallacies I've seen written here so far...

Hey, this is a political forum. People will disagree -- and people here that initially flamed me have retracted their remarks. :D I'm also certain that most of the people posting here are fairly young. ;)
Strange, your tone is so much different in our Islam discussion thread, brother.
This from my "friend" that tells me:
1. He doesn't know even the most basic content or context of the Qur'an;
2. Asserts he nonetheless knows the Qur'an better than his Imams and Mullahs, since they are "full of " and uneducated;
3. Claims this although he can't read Arabic;
4. Thinks he can pick and choose what he likes from the Qur'an and ignore the human and women's rights problems it contains;
5. Denounces anything he doesn't like in the Qur'an/things happening in the Muslim world as "not real Islam."
And on the notion of my being a n00b, lol. I've been around here for ages -- the owner of this board is a personal friend. This is just a new profile (check the date).
So -- who here knew DJ Fuzion/Cinar? That's the big reason I came to this forum in particular, I understand he really liked it.
Toodles,

I was thinking the same thing (I guess). But there hasn't really been any mentions of invasions in this thread yet.:conf:

People are not disagreeing with you - they are simply incapable of following your lines(?) of reasoning. For instance, the "lol" with with you answered St_Andrew was really hard to put into context.

Define fairly young - and then please go on to explain your reason for being so sure. I mean, if you're 40 or 50 then you're probably right, but if you're a 15 year old kid (as I suspect) then you're very wrong. |

This is your second bigoted comment in the two posts I have been talking to you (although you weren't the originator). See why I conclude what I do?

You for one, mea culpa. Shaolin's another.

See above.
Maybe I'll just do myself a favour and ignore trolling.

Really, why would you have a sig with anti EU constitution stuff in it if you werent anti EU consittuiton? and if you have a political sig, you are most likely a strong believer in it! hence my conclusion... |

When exactly did I flame you? By saying you can be irritating? I don't think that I'm the only one who feels that way. |

Not really. You can just be a little irritating that's all. And I sort of share Youpes's frustration so I said "nice response." I don't see how that incredibly rude or qualifies as flaming.

When did I "tell" you that I don't even know the most basis contents or context of the Qur'an? That's something YOU asserted. And just cuz I don't know Arabic doesn't mean it's impossible for me to understand the Quran, especially when I already told you that when I do have difficulty with some parts(translations ofcourse) or they just sound really weird or whatever, I ask people who're good at both languages to explain stuff. And all that other stuff, I've already adressed in the other thread and I'm not going to bother to do it again as you basically don't seem to take into consider what anyone else says and just force your views on everyone else.
EDIT: If you have something to say to me, then you can PM me as I don't want to hijack this thread. |

What? So you're a troll then??!:eyes:
I mean, isn't that what trolls do? Get banned in one identity and create mutliple identies to bug us all? If you've been here around for ever why you so ashamed for your old identity?
Damnit, who 'round here is our resident troll-basher?:whip:
Perhaps we should wake Lira from his vacation on the shores of Ipanema?;)

I invite people to to read the thread themselves.

First you told me I had no idea what I was talking about (as a knee-jerk reaction) when I initially responded to the above thread -- several times you basically told everyone in this forum in general that, "...since so many of you have minimal understanding of Islam..." you were going to educate us.
You then reiterated your denials of what other people had said about Islam oppressing women. I then posted the relevant Surahs and verses. You then retracted your statements that I was wrong (totally legit), expressed pleasure that "I had done research," :D but then denied nonetheless that the Qur'an preeches inequality. Your justification was that the Qur'an can be "interpretted in many different ways/whatever you don't like is not true Islam" -- a blanket dismissal, that conjures a get-out-of-jail-free card that you think vetos whatever you please, which you reserve the right to invoke at your whim.
Your posts and your remarks express your unfamiliarity with the Qur'an. I'm not the Muslim here, you are. I don't mean that insultingly, and I don't have a problem with that (that's your business), but if you find it "irritating" when I respond with material that disproves your "impressions" about Islam and what "you think" is in the Qur'an (as distinct from "the facts"), that's your problem too, not mine. :D

That's like saying you can fully understand Fermat's Enigma without being able to count to 10.
The Qur'an isn't written in English. To understand it fully on its own terms, you have to approach it from its perspective. I'm afraid that's a basic fact of life, and not debatable.
(When did you ever think you would see a Westerner telling that to a Muslim about their own Holy Book?)

Again, ain't "my view." It's the Qur'an's.
Keep in mind that most Holy Books polish the nasty terminologies out and replace it with flowery English that has no bearing on what the original text says. (The nasty terminologies and situations have a tendancy to be rather embarrassing for ecclesiasticals of the 21st century).
Funny how the guilty party always tries to preempt by accusing the opposition of what they have done themselves, hmm?
Thanks, but I already called a stop to our talk since it was going in circles with me presenting annotated Arabic translations and commentary on the grammar and Arabic religious vocabulary and you simply responding "no it doesn't say that" (when you are in no position to dispute that) and when you have the text in front of your face and/or can go look it up for yourself.
Ok if you like, but then we have no basis for common discussion.
You're just wasting our collective time, and at this point we're just wasting bandwidth.
Cheers,
-Noble |
