I'll try to string some words togeather about the actual topic despite my grave affliction of dyslexia.
Bottom Line:
| quote: | | Even with the rebate, Britain's net contribution - after taking account of farm subsidies and regional grants paid to the UK by the European Commission - has totalled more than £40bn over the years, a sum only exceeded by Germany and double the amount paid by the French. |
>LINK<
| quote: | | That is why he has launched a ferocious attack on the common agricultural policy, which eats up more than 40 per cent of the EU budget to support an industry that represents barely 2 per cent of the European economy. Most European countries, especially the Nordic states, see investing in high technology as the best way of resisting competition from China - and they are correct. In the end, Mr Blair will trade a reduction of the British rebate if he can end the waste of agricultural subsidies, although that may not happen until the end of the next EU budget round in 2013. |

And the old arse was just bringing up the rebate to deflect (as alot of you have pointed out) the fact that he ed up with respect to getting the constitution through. |

but just like all things internet, one person misrepresents you, and then the mindless hoardes descend. |
If you're thinking of shaolin and your islam debate, I didn't even look at the thread. And even if I did I hardly think it would drastically change the way in which I respond to you. The descent of the "mindless hordes" is more likely due to your conflicting and overly defensive attitude.
| quote: | | I've been the subject of multiple bigoted remarks (due to being Canadian), and have even been accused of being anti-EU in this thread, when my nick is "TheNobleEU." :eyespop: |
I'm pretty sure that with "anti EU constitution obsession" St Andrew meant that you're obsessed with fighting against people who are against the constitution, and not with fighting against the constitution itself. |

Read: "I choose to retain my opinions regardless of the facts and refuse to observe anything that might possibly indicate otherwise."
Congrats, you're now worthy of a doctorate in scientific methodology. (Ain't too many places in the world where someone can admit to willingly wearing blinkers and then proclaim how proud he is of it).

If that is the case, and St. Andy meant that, than that suspicion is wrong too (be it he or you that holds it).
At no time did I even comment on the validity or lack thereof of the EU constitution; in fact I didn't express any opinion on the constitution at all (save in my sig, which cannot be misconstrued as anti-EU or anti-constitution by anyone who stops to process the sentence for more than 2 seconds).
Thanks however for airing your paranoia, which has no foundation in anything that happened in this forum.

No, read "you're too stupid to understand, but I base my opinions and words on your current argument and not ones you might have had in the past".

And congrats, you've now worthy of having a title "person who's best at misinterpreting other people's arguments and then making an idiot of himself when insulting people on the bases of the opposite of what they actually said".
