ATB, Whats his deal?

| I have been listening to EDM for years now. I have always staid away from ATB because i got the impression from TA that he was in the ranks of DJ Sammy, DJ Encore, etc. However i was listening to a live set (live and nextlevel 04-01-05) on online radio and i was really impressed! The uplifting trance that I love to here. So i was wondering if this is the kind of music he spins and what are his recent releases like. |

| You know, I'm really not sure either. As far as I've seen, he comes and goes, although I personally believe he hit his climax towards the end of the 90's with "9PM til I come," and "Don't Stop," which sparked some really insane remixes by other producers as well. And I love his remix of Olive's "You're Not Alone." As far as live sets, haven't heard any! |

You should pick up his latest cd then...it's called "The DJ", or "The DJ in the mix" or something to that effect. I have it...it's not bad. It's sort of like a couple good uplifting tracks, then a pretty cheesy track, a couple more good tracks, then grilled cheese, a couple good tracks, etc, and by the end it's up to hard uplifting trance. The mixing is decent as well, although he tries to do some weird stuff that doesn't sound good to me.
Overall I'd recommend it though from what you've said. |

I'll be honest, I liked his earlier work....his 'Movin Melodies' LP was good I thought and some of his chill tracks on the 2nd disc of 'Two Worlds' LP were hot & worth checking IMO......

ATB played here last November and tore the place up. Everyone left blown away.
He was supposed to play again a couple months ago but cancelled. |
