The great tennis open, Wimbledom is once again upon us people!

I took today off and watched tennis from 830 - 3pm. It was georgeous. I even re-watched the Fedder vs. Matthieu match from 3pm - 5pm afterwards too, since it was on again! You have to love the way Federer plays, especially on grass! Its truly his surface -- hence the reason for his nickname "G.O.G".

GOD ON GRASS

Im almost thinking I should have taken yesterday off though, instead of today, since Justine Henin-Hardenne, Andy Roddick and Maria Sharapova all play tomrrow their first rounds! :(

Im gonna hafta get some tape ready and have it recorded for me!

Well, no real surprises with everyone making it thru, though there is some controversy going on w/ the seeding for this open, the way they changed it up for men's (and then did not for the women's...)

, this is gonna be hell of a fortnight!

Once again, I'm pray that Justine or Maria makes it to the finals (with my true loyalty lying w/ Justine) for the women's draw, and for the men's, prolly either Roddick or Federer... haven't made up my mind yet. Federer will be damned near impossible to beat tho! :clown:

I cant wait to go home and watch to see how the 1st round matches went for Maria and Henin.

I caught some of Roddicks this morning before I left for work. Were in the 2nd set and he'd killed his opponent (forgete who) in the first, 6-1 I believe -- nothing surprising there.

Watching Roddick on grass is n' awesome too!

Nope just looking at pictrues on gettyimages and looking at the scores on Yahoo! Sports... :) I'm at work, just preiodically checking the results :)

Sharapova's supposed to be wearing some diamond shoes or something but I don't see any diamonds...

LONDON (AP) - French Open winner Justine Henin-Hardenne ran out of comebacks Tuesday and lost in the first round at Wimbledon to Eleni Daniilidou of Greece, 7-6 (8), 2-6, 7-5.

The Belgian became the first French Open women's champion to lose her opening match at Wimbledon since Margaret Smith was beaten by Billie Jean King 43 years ago. The last Roland Garros men's champion to lose his opening match at Wimbledon was Gustavo Kuerten in 1997.

Seeded seventh, Henin-Hardenne won the second set to pull even, erased a 4-2 deficit in the final set to reach 4-all, then overcame two match points in the 10th game for 5-all. But she double-faulted twice in the final game, including on the last point when her weary serve clipped the net cord.

That was the 11th double-fault for Henin-Hardenne, and she committed 48 unforced errors in the two-hour 28-minute match.

Daniilidou, ranked 76th, came to Wimbledon with a 7-11 record this year and won despite requiring treatment from a trainer in the third set for a leg injury.
