kew gardens, yeah
she was stabbed on austin street in the 1950s? 1960s? multiple times. she cried out for help many many times; people came up to their apt windows, but no one called the police. she was left to die on the street, right near the LIRR station. |

WTF was your dog doing while they broke into your house? If I lived alone in NYC that's one thing I would have.....a BIG ing dog and I would have it professionally trained to attack intruders. We used to have a German Shepard police dog as a pet when I was younger and he would go nuts if a stranger came to our house.
So yeah Amy....GET A BIG DOG!!!;) |
I did have a big dog he was half shepherd half rott, problem is he was friendly as a puppy and even still they beat him badly. When we got home he was even scared to go near us, he was running and pacing around the house with his head down kind of mopping. I guess they were threatened by his size not knowing he really wouldnt hurt them anyway.
AMY GET A BIG DOG THAT WILL ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING :D ;) |

What kinda neighborhood are you guys living in? That can happened anywhere but how many times do you hear about peoples apartments being broken into when the people are home? That's some scary Amy. Get a tazer gun and zap those fools out of the front window!!! |
its not even a bad neighborhood at all, i was just there over the wkend. it seemed like a very safe, beautiful neighborhood...in fact its a nice apartment complex within a whole community of apt complexes...surburbanlike -- then again even break-ins occur within these places. Maybe even more so since no one is expecting that to happen. She lives on the 3rd floor and although the stairways are out in the open, security isnt really walking around or anything. im hoping it was just someone's mistake but judging from wut you thought u heard thru the door, i would totally be on the defense and get that alarm as well as a 'door club' which wedges underneath the door so ppl cant push in...as well as a tazer gun and BAT...and yes it pays to get to know ur neighbors.
TELL DANNY TO GET A CELL PHONE GIRL!!! FOR REAL! THIS IS FOR UR SAFETY! I'm serious. He needs to be reachable at all times. :( Tell him to think about it. Nothing happened this time, but it was a close call in a way...
hmm well over the wkend i *was* contemplating an eventual move to Florida in my mind. hmm no, this doesnt deter me, i still like the place :D |

Wow. That's horrible. Do you have a lot of cats? I'd maybe think about getting a dog or other animal that might serve as an alarm system since they hear things from so far away. I wonder if they make home door alarm devices the same way they make them for cars. Well, good luck and be safe. I don't know whether or not mace is illegal in the city but this sure isn't -
This gun well... shoots out intense ultrasonic sound waves that cause immediate and intense nausea and pain to whoever's hit with it. The pain lasts up to an hour after the person is shot. It has a 20 - 50 foot range and most importantly, it creates a very loud sound (sounds like metal scratching a chalkboard at rock concert volume) that would easily alert other people in your building and around your block. I know this is kind of OD but, whatever works right?

What was that dog that Trance X posted a few weeks ago (I forget what thread it was) but I think it was a bull mastiff (cross breed between a pit bull and mastiff)??? |

That's a waste of money. It says it's "capable" of intense pain and discomfort in humans and animals. So what happens with it doesn't work in an emergency situation.....like you're going to have time to adjust the khz. Just get a tazer....thats sure to knock anybody on their ass.....fr0st can link us to a pretty ed up video. |

Yea its 300$... a tazer is cheaper plus I think this would "disturb" everyone in the vicinity not just the person you are targeting. If it causes other people in the area pain how can they come to your rescue? |

Next time someone fondles your door, make believe someone is in the house and say (loud enough so they hear) "Baby, go get the rifles." And make sure you say it with a big hick accent, like you go hunting all the time and love it. |

Yes but NY is different from Florida. She lives in a residential apartment and it's prob one of those complexes that is hard to get to the back door (if there even is one.) One thing I have noticed about NYC.......people don't give a about what's going on around them. Perfect example.....Brianna picked me up from my house the other night and we were driving down the street....came apon a red light and we seen these two duys ( dykes :stongue: ) ( duking it out in the middle of the street and people were just driving by as if nothing was going on. Most of the time (anywhere else) somebody would call the cops and try and break the fight up. So I can see why so many people's cars and houses get broken into up here......so many hoodlums and nobody to keep their asses in check. |
