LOL, me and preppie chick were just discussing last night the very matter of how many new TOTAs have been joining up as of late ;)
Im neutral on the matter... yes there is a load of new recruits, but is that a good or bad thing? no, it just is! :D

he's been around forever, yet I only just met him this passed weekend.
These are just two examples of what's wrong with TOTA. After a whole year, I am further behind on meeting them all than I was when I joined. Too many bloody people....

I totally agree. This is not a post to bitch and shouldn’t be taken that way; I just want people see it from my nOOb perspective :tongue2 .
I just joined this year and got a welcome thread and to read some of this is kind of disheartening. I’ve also got a few of my friends to join recently; I believe the more people I can show the scene to the better. So many times I’ve taken friends to a club to have them turn around and tell me they can’t wait to come again next weekend :gsmile:. I love when that happens so I tell them about TA to help get them on there way into the scene better and let them know of upcoming events. So I think the more people who get exposed to the scene and want a place to always feel welcome why not on TA?

TA is a public Internet forum - anyone is free to sign up at any time(unless maybe your IP is banned, or the server is full). Although I'm no heavy contributor to this online community myself, I tend to notice some new screen names join in, then disapeering after awhile (Could it be a lifestyle change? New job? School? Got bored of posting? Who knows why they stopped.) Since the site seems to have grown in popularity over the years, IMHO, its just more apparent now with the higher volume of signups. Some will stay, some will go. And I think that's ok.
But to all of you who continue to be familiar faces, both on TA and all these parties i've been going to - rock on. |
