Wow if I read this thread back in March when I joined I woulda said ' this'
Yeah I know I'm still pretty new, but I still have to say this thread aint cool.
I joined TA cause I had really good people like Dan and Cale come up to me and say I should join. So I took a peek. Dont get me wrong I'm glad I did join cause it gives me a chance to communicate with people I already partied with regularly. Not to mention I've met tons of party animals and had some good times.
How else would I find myself in some dudes backyard in Cambridge?!
I agree that its totally annoying when someone joins, they get a welcome thread, then thats the last anyone ever sees of them. But what can you do? Anyone in the world can join this site and post here. You shouldnt criticize someone just because they are new. Thats like making fun of the new kid in grade school. Remember everyone was new at one point...except Swamper of course :p |

But I'm NOT making criticizing anyone, or any group of people. People, read thru my posts again and you'll see what I meant. Maybe the 1st post in the thread wasn't 'spelled out' enough. Again, it wasn't meant to be mean.
Again, bottom line:
-This is growing pains
-This is just my whining
-And yes, all those welcome threads for people u never hear from again are overwhelming, especially for someone like me who cares about this close knit group of people & is trying to keep up with all the new faces.
Cut this old lady some slack! |

Need 2 see/meet you at least 2-3 times to rhave a chance at remembering.
Even for me personally, doesnt bother me if you forget my name
of even who i am. Just remember I'm a TA;) |

Start a "Hey don't you post on tranceaddict" picture thread where you actively label and list everyones name and picture. It definately helps.

Ditto.
There once was a time when I knew almost every single active member of this board, and I didn't go out all that often. Now I read a couple of threads and there's a whole lot of post-whoring from people I've never even heard of, let alone met face to face.
And while I realize that some of them are partiers despite me not having met them personally, I also KNOW that more than a few of them are just post whores.
I hate to be the old fart moaning about the new blood, but as Nat originally pointed out... quality over quantity. New members are great but we already have enough postwhores. Hell, LKD does that as a full-time job. |

My post wasnt aimed at you specificly, there are others who posted who took the 'down with newbies' attitude. (AND many who did not).

I agree here too, all these welcome threads definatly do clog things up. But theres nothing wrong with being nice. For the record I never even got a welcome thread :( :p
And you think you have problems keeping up with the new faces, I'm still trying to meet the old ones!
