WICKED! WICKED! ahaha
pride was a blast. i've never been before and it totally blew my expectations out of the water. people were friendly and all in the same party mindset. dj dan was really good.. was lovin every minute of it, aside from the tech difficulties. for those of you that commented on his set, i think u really have to dig that style of house for it to not sound like "one big song". it was deep, it was hard, it was dirty! shoutout to all the people i met, and see ya next year |

if i never hear spektrum - kinda new again, i will die happy. ugh. that and lola's theme.
i enjoyed the uk hard house i found myself dancing to in the beer garden on sat. LOL. and holy mixing ups by said dj!!! yowza. even i noticed, so they must have been bad. it was too hot later on on saturday, so we went to dallas' to drink. love your apartment my dear!
yesterday was uber fun too. awesomissimo!!! didn't think i would run into that many people. the soundsystem sucked, but who cares, it was a beautiful day and it's not like i was going for some sort of cerebral musical experience.
anyways, i had fun, even though i feel like i've been chewed up and spat out today. work, shall we say, was BRUTAL. :( |

Maybe it's just me - but this song doesn't fit very well in the context with which it is played.
Tom Stephan did the same thing on NYE and I was "WTF?" just the same as yesterday.
Yes, I know the tune is recognizable, ok. Seriously though, I wouldn't throw down "Karma Chameleon" right after Low Frequencies - so I just don't get it.
(read: i'm not saying it's wrong, that the song is or that the dj is for playing it. what i am saying is that i don't get playing it and that i wouldn't play it and that is probably why i wasn't on the main stage... ;) ) |
doesnt sound like it should have been played where it was, but still, I just like the song :) haha |

I think it was Dj Dan.....and again - the flow to his set was not the best....if anyone was to play it - Deko-ze - could have gotten away with perhaps......this track very much reminds me of him and his sets at the Zone last year......and the COZO's in the crowd woulda loved it DE-KO-ZE - DE-KO-ZE!! :haha: |
DJ Dan can go back to Cali from whence he came and never come back to T.O.
But thats just my humble n00b opinion! LOL |

I have heard DJ DAN - over a dozen times (MOONSHINE - REGULAR).
He spins good funky house - he played good songs - programming might have been off - but no reason to say never come back......:whip: C'mon Mark - (you are not a nOOb) that's how people ruin future parties making comments like this.....every DJ has off sets.........just as everybody has off days at work/home/play.........many people enjoyed themselves (you were there - you know this) and it was a HELL lot better than having some CIRCUIT DIVA VOCAL CRAP for hours and hours.......that would have had everyone in our group crying foul........especially me :D
4 different DJs spun - for many different musically interested and uninterested people......they were not just playing for us "who are in the know" but for many others that just like high energy dance music and dont know "what is what" - and this they all accomplished as well as to be expected. Most "Gays" probably hated it more than you because there were no Madonna, Britney or Whitney remixes to "Queen" out to - we were ALL treated to an awesome day of beats and friendly fun times with friends new and old.......and no amount of negative comments will take that from us.
DJ DAN - can come back - Mark - you will just choose not to go
Thank you - come again! ;) |
