we plan on opening up summertime.. and probably either in deep ellum area or north dallas.. and about that discount.. it's always possible (esp if you bring friends from college station!!)

your excitment is contagious, its sounds like you've found yourself a project/job that makes you feel as if its not even work. i'll definitely be there to support you guys! :D

How about offering a membership to your customers? f.ex. members get 50% off on every 10th vinyl or something like that... that makes your customers come back for more ;)

hey dude, i'll stock the trance section for you as long as you give me a discount on the vinyl i buy.:)

remember there are three store you've got to beat out: Bill's, Core and Turbulant but that shouldn't be too hard. Also try to make the store as pimped as Chemical Records in Houston. And post at www.dallasraves.org if you already haven't.

peace,

the reason why i said Email is that it would be at ur all time use...and the costumers can go to sites like planetxusa or satelitte and sample the records that are avaible or comming soon to the store ..so they can come in a know already what they want ..... let them hear it at there home system or stuff makes people like records much more then listenening in headphones ...

Hey!!!! that sounds like a wicked idea.!!! You should consider having a a guest DJ pop by once in a while and just spin tracks....not a set or anything...but just lounging out and chilling. How about Texas' own... DJ DOBOY??? I think he's in Austin..or Dallas?? He always rips up on DI (digitally imported) Plus I think he wanted someone interested in doing that same type of idea.!! http://www.djdoboy.com I think that's his site address.

hmm.. well we already got out first lackey.. but if we need somebody else, you are in the area! yeah beating them isn't gonna be too hard.. don't forget oaklawn (laughs) and yes.. chemical is ing nice.. i think i'll check them out one more time before we work on our designs.. i love that place!!

and of course.. once we get ready to open i'll be posting it everywhere.. as of now it's too early yet..

hmm.. i don't know how effective that would be.. i know when i go to shop records i just grab a stack and listen to them in the store to decide what i want.. i've never been compelled to listen to a bunch of samples on those sites.. and since we probably won't be running the shop online (initally of course, plans could change) i would see email as a means to just send out new release lists and special events, etc..

hell yes.. we hope that we'll be able to pull in a few names from time to time.. i was talking to a dj at a club i went to this week and told him about the idea and he loves it, says that if we pull it off he'll come on out and bring friends with him.. so yeah what i'll do is whenever i get out and about i'm gonna start letting people know and build up the steam.. i'll probably ask a couple people if they'd like to play a set on the grand opening weekend or something too.. ya never know..
