I was pretty sure he wasn't due to hit the UK til later this month but i haven't heard from him. |
Cam is currently with me in Berlin and he is fine and well. Very sad news indeed.

| That was not cool. It's been running on the news over here in Amsterdam all day and I'd imagine it'd be much the same everywhere. It won't turn me off from visiting the country later this month but it's a terrible occurrence nevertheless. |

hi guys.
im fine and well......its very surreal here.....i went into work as per usual in the morning....there were a few train diruptions, and train cancellations....at that point no one knew that this was the start of a terror attack..everyone just moved on , making their way to work as per usual.......upon arriving at work we then heard news on the radio and web and just could not believe it......no mobiles would work, and the landlines were not working either! so you can imagine the commotion....
i work in Fulham, near Chelsea, south of london and live in the south also...left work just after midday as the chaos to get home at 6 would have been horrendous as all the buses and underground stations were shut!!!! leaving millions stuck....as there were no services on the whole of the underground so had to resort to getting on a bus (as u can imagine no one wanted to ....) it was packed for that time of day with loads of ppl..who had flocked to the bottom of the bus, standing...no one wanted to go on the top!.......the feeling was very surreal ....
Leigh is well, got a sms from him hes in birmingham ......
hmm... not sure if going to work tomorrow as tubes will prob be shut.....
after the jubilation of london getting the games yesterday, today just a very sad day indeed......
bloody terrorists.......:whip:

sad day indeed.
believe it or not, the religion itself does not promote killing in the name of their god, only the fanatics twisted their own so called holy words in order for them to do so.

Nah I'm back home in Aus now...but thanks for the concern (and the no comment :p)
Such a terrible thing.... But, imho, our Western governments have brought a lot of this on us :( It's high time they changed their agenda in the Middle East (which cleary is not working!!) and start trying to address the roots of the problems (instead of being driven by oil, strategic interests, etc)....but personally, I think we should get the hell out of that part of the world and stay out of places we don't belong!!
As for Islam....please can we remember that it is actually a religion of peace, which promotes tolerance and respect.... There are extremists in every race and religion who interpret religious doctrine in the ways they want in order to justify their cause... But, nowhere in the Koran does it say that this kind of behaviour can be justified....and the vast majority of Muslims in the world condemn what these extremists are doing.....so, let's remember not to let a few rotten apples spoil the whole bunch *sigh* I'm married to a Muslim and, through him, I've seen what a peaceful and respectful religion it is when it's practiced the way it was originally intended........ |
