really quite sad..

i wont be too suprised if it happens here in Australia everntually..

as far as your comments beemer, i think to say that the government have brought this upon us, is totally incorrect....

but no use us fighting within our own ranks.

suffice to say, you're wrong :)

Such a terrible thing.... But, imho, our Western governments have brought a lot of this on us :( It's high time they changed their agenda in the Middle East (which cleary is not working!!) and start trying to address the roots of the problems (instead of being driven by oil, strategic interests, etc)....but personally, I think we should get the hell out of that part of the world and stay out of places we don't belong!!

last time i checked terrorism was happening before iraq, before 9/11, so really i don't agree with you.
Light The Fuse
sad day indeed.

times like this i wish australia was like switzerland
pkcRAISTLIN
regardless of whether these attacks are a direct result of iraq & afghanistan, the actions of the UK/AUST/USA govts (& and obviously others) in these nations makes them a more popular target. im not saying any nation that receives these attacks deserves them, but its a risk all have been willing to take.

as for "I think we should get the hell out of that part of the world and stay out of places we don't belong!!"

are you going to tell me that after attacking another nation(s), toppling their govt, causing major destruction to vital infrastructure and opening up a hornet's nest of guerilla & terrorist warfare; that we should just bail the out and leave these nations to destroy themselves? we and all other members of the coalition have a moral debt to the citizens of iraq & afghanistan.

its truly awful what has happened. but none of us are surprised, and whilst we all hope like , we know its inevitable over here too. but id be deeply ashamed if we leave and things disintegrate behind us.

my cousin lives in london and was running late for work. if she had been on time, she most likely would've been in the blast :nervous:

thank god she's ok
Rob
Oh boo-hoo, less then a dozen people died and a few hundred people inhaled puffs of fumes and it's bombarded in the media as being some kind of armageddon . I guess when a few people die from such an "atrocity" that as the media claims "callus savages" commit it's labeled as "terrorism" yet when the US, Britain, Australia & France send troops over to kill innocent people it's happily reported as "peace-keeping" :gsmile:

Take a look on graphic websites ( http://www.***********/archives/war/index.html ) that show the number of lives these so called peace-keepers have taken, and the number of families they've destroyed, yet it's never ing reported on. They're labeled as peace keepers, and hero’s, yet the savage mentality needed by these "peace-keepers" to pull tank triggers at fellow humans, and drop bombs from the safety of their planes and apache helicopters makes them no less callus and savage then the so called "despicable vile monsters that have no regard to human life and therefore must be hunted down and destroyed" they're trying to police.

That was coming from Beazley the fat piece of

Far be it from western media to objectively report on the situation and not paint the US and Britain as the perpetrating terrorists of this situation but rather the innocent victims who never deserved this. This wasn't an act of terrorism but an act of revenge and payback. I say good on them as they've disrupted a few lives, just like Blair's pompous nose disrupted a few lives by sending troops into Iraq with guns flailing at innocent civilians who ended up being used as *accidental* target practice.

Finally:

00soups00: you
escee: you.
muli: you.
pkcRAISTLIN: you.

You're all ing wrong. you all.

Rob, would you be more upset if your own child got killed, or 100 Columbian children?

The point I'm getting at is, Asutralians have strong ties with England, and this hits close to home.

Neither of the killings can be justified, but we will always feel a stronger pain when it is done to the people we love.

good post Rob.

nobody deserves terrorism, but i'm not a fan of the view that the great US of A are right every time they start a war, jump in to promote "peace by force" (ie. are the terrorists themselves) and everybody should just agree with it.

my thoughts go out to the families and victims affected, in all acts of terrorism.

btw, according to CNN the death toll is 50 plus now.
