Rob ran into some trouble with some thugs Sat nite where they we're camped:sadgreen: ...Apparently there was a fight and the police swamred the area...I saw Rob after & he told me what happened but I won't get into details here...Needless to say that they didn't stay in the main stage for long and said their goodbyes:confused:

I heard that Dj Unknown came, took a look at the stage he was spinning at and left. This is what some chick from Detroit told me. She was all pissy that they had such a "big" dj in such a crap stage... I had to laugh, its freakin hardcore, would she have liked it if he spun in the main room... and have extreme echo for the fact that only 5 mashed out e-tards where in the room!!! Besides, there was nothing wrong with the stage, it was just a small area, which is fitting for a genre where there is only so many ravers that maintained enough brain damage from cheap drugs in the candy days to permit them to still enjoy the circus music!!! I hope Destiny learns from this one, that Hardcore is dead and to use the 3 room for some better music.

Nope - not at all - Unknown was a great guy and really enjoyed his time at WEMF so not sure where that rumour started!

As for Keoki, his passport expired... he showed up at the airport and wasn't even aware. Guess he doesn't do much international travel anymore!

This was my first WEMF ever, and what can I say? Anyone who hasn’t been before…GO! I only went for 2 days…but it was good times all around!

It started off great…Josh and I weren’t even going to go, but after having so much fun at Tiesto last weekend, on Monday we decided that we couldn’t miss out on WEMF and though t we’d surprise all the TAs on Saturday. So we drove up and got there around 7pm, and quickly found the TA area, and what a pleasant surprise they had. (Although a couple of them knew we were coming…b/c I’m terrible with secrets when I’m excited and I caved to Cale and Dan…and then Dan continued the chain and caved to a couple more ppl! Regardless it was still a nice surprise, and things worked out well.)

It was great to just hang out with everyone for awhile, take some pictures, enjoy the outdoors, and grooving to the TA DJ beats…I was hearing some wicked tracks…one right when I got there…Smells Like Teen Spirit (BK Bootleg Mix) – Nirvana (shut up Josh…I love it! haha), Gone – Max Graham…and plenty more. Lars and I even went for a walk and ended up getting interviewed for a documentary! I wonder if we’ll ever get to see it!!

Soon enough, night fall came upon us, and the real partying was to commence. I went inside one of the rooms with Cale and Josh, looking to do some dancing to Jelo, but we ended up going into the wrong room. Some guy told us to go through the bathrooms and we’d find the other room, where Jelo was. I was a little skeptical of that at first…it sounded kinda weird…but he wasn’t lying. Jelo and Glaude were going back to back, and it was wicked. They gave off great energy to the crowd and it was awesome to have so much room to dance!

Rabbit in the Moon…hmm what do I say?! Personally I wasn’t a big fan of the music…it was a little slow for me. But the show they put on was fantastic…defiantly worth seeing! They really put a lot of work into it, and I thought it was extremely well done.

Highlight of my night though was defiantly Matt Hardwick! His set was just AMAZING! He was pulling out some great tracks. I loved how he ended with Without You – Dogzilla…I completely LOVE that song right now. When Matt was done, I ran over to the side of the stage to shake his hand…I had to after an amazing set like that! Someone told me he thought all of the sets were being recorded…does anyone know if that’s true? I’d defiantly like to get my hands on a copy of Matt’s! Adam Sheridan’s too! I was disappointed when Matt was leaving b/c I wanted him to spin for the rest of the night…but Sheridan held up, continuing the ubertrance! The remix of Betterman was great…I was really surprised to hear it. Heaven Sent…wow…Josh, Jamie and I were trying to figure out what song it was…I recognized it from a long time ago, but couldn’t remember! Gamma helped me out though! Great remix too.

Anyway, this is getting a bit long so I should wrap it up…all in all, I had a great 2 days…it was sad to say Good-bye to everyone (you should all go to Above & Beyond so we can party again…or else I won’t see you until Labour of Love!) I defiantly want to make it out next year!

It was great to see some familiar faces…Lars (So good to see you again!), Cale (Thanks for keeping the secret), Dan (I’m not mad, I swear), Jamie (Yessss! I’m hope you liked the surprise), RJ (it was a pleasure, as always), Andie (good to meet you for the 2nd time! Haha), Jay (I swear I'm not racist!), Katy and Josee, Sean, RichardTaylor, Dancing*Queen, Swamper, Highroller…I know there’s more! You know who you are!

And the new ones I met…Aaron (now I can put a face to the name), Jenna_rae (we must go shopping!), Fahima (good to finally meet you), Gamma (thanks for trading me), DJ Robben (love the hello/goodbye), timetoburn (did you say this was the 2nd time I met you too?) dj_Ampz (I THINK I met you, right? haha), tatgirl, Shane, Schryer, Penny, digiNut, supernovagirl, joint…again, I know there’s more, I’m so sorry!!
I was going through Karim’s "Hey Don't You Post on TA" thread to see who I forgot, b/c I know there’s a bunch…not all of you have your pics up there though…get moving! Haha

There ya go Cale...haha Man sorry this review is so long!!! I'll shorten it next time!

Infected Mushroom?! They weren't there!! Were they? If I missed them, I would FLIP out!! Please just tell me you were ON mushrooms...b/c if I missed IM, I would DIE!

Infected mushroom was not there.

I think he's probably thinking of Rabit in the moon.

other no show was Hype.
Aparently Kekoi's passport had expired and he didn't realize it untill he got to the airport. With an event this big its not really a surprise that a few of the guys didn't make it. I'm thankful for all of the dj's that did make it out and obviously wished the others would have been there, but wasn't really shocked when I heard about a few cancelations... it happens.

WEMF was mixed for me at best.

Me and a few buddies showed up at 6pm on Friday ... we got to see Drag N Fly ... pumping out an awesome set as usual ... we then chilled a bit, and then the thunderstorm came ... our tent was on a hill, and we had to hold to tent to keep it from collapsing. It was some fun times .. hah ...

As soon as the rain stopped, we went to see Accuface, but were pissed because we had missed the first 15 or so minutes of his set. Nonetheless, Accuface was AMAZING, with the live keyboards, was a very energetic set, and lots of room to dance, not too many people there while Accuface performed.

The rest of friday night was a general dissapointment ... a bunch of ginos, ginas, and crazy Israeli fans showed up for Astral Projection. I was dissapointed by AP's set ... I expected more ... they slightly redeemed themselves when they dropped Mahadeva at the end, but that was it. There were some tracks that were going quite slow, and it was funny to see a few girls dancing absolutely crazy to these tracks which were otherwise lackluster, in my opinion.

The Hardsound stage was pretty nice with the Goodfellaz crew and all the hardcore ... I only stayed a bit though, it was too much to handle for extended periods ... hah.

Was up pretty early, checked out the Four Four room arounfd 6:30 am with Android playing ... not my style ... but was shocked to hear him drop Daft Punk - technologic, as I am a big fan of 'Punk.

It sucked that they closed the washrooms in the main building for a few hours early on Saturday, but thankfully they re opened at 4pm.

My anger grew as they had problems with the Four Four stage, and they started about 2 hours late at the Four Four stage. The lineup got a little mixed up.

I was *very* dissapointed with Dr. Trance ... a so-called "legend" and icon in the local Toronto scene ... I can't understand what all the hype was with this guy ... he played lackluster tracks, like really OLD tracks ... in fact, a few tracks he dropped were not even trance, as they had no melody or no progression ... it was more like techno tracks that he dropped, or progressive.

I also had high hopes for OS/2 ... expecting trance, but he dropped mostly house, so more dissapointment ensued. Same thing with Jelo ... expected trance, but instead got house. Jelo was decent, but not my style. And then the first shock of the night ... Donald Glaude ... one of the funniest characters I have EVER seen ... I was cracking up for literally half an hour just watching this guy and his goofy moves. Even though I'm not really a fan of house, I actually liked his set, and I must give special mention to his mixing skills which were very good. He put on a great show overall, and I liked him more than Jelo.

Then came on Rabbit in the Moon ... which was a HUGE dissapointment for me. I had looked at their pics before on their site, and was very impressed. When actually seeing them live, I was kind of underwhelmed, not just by the show itself, but by the obscure music as well, which really turned me off.

After that I rested a bit ... and made my way over to the hardsound stage for none other than Sam Punk ... all I can say is WOW ... the guy KILLED IT. I am a pretty big fan of hardstyle, but I was totally shocked at how amazing his set was. I was beat after 15 minutes of going crazy to his set ... it sucked so much energy out of me. I shook his hand at the end.

Then we went over to the Four Four room to catch Hardwick ... me and my friend were SHOCKED that Hardwick dropped Lennox - Servant of Justice (Alex Morph Remix) ... as I am a huge fan of Morph. I wanted to stay for Adam Sheridan and the rest of Hardwick,,but I was dead after the killer set that Sam Punk had dropped. My friend stayed for Sheridan and later told me it was amazing.

I was also VERY dissapointed to hear all that drum n bass in the hardsound room ... I mean WTF ... there was an entire stage ALREADY devoted to d n b, and yet they decided to play it at TWO stages. Bad move, and I really did not enjoy that ... I felt like my money was being wasted.

Ironically some of the best tracks played at WEMF for me where at the small tents all around the camp area, as well as some guys blasting great trance near our tent.

Overall it was decent ... a lot of dissapointment, especially from the lack of energetic trance, and hard trance, but Accuface and Sam Punk at least made up for some of it.

Will I go again ... maybe ... depending on the lineup.

HAHA, i wonder if you were camped by the RVs JUST to the right behind the Big Bills food truck and so on, cause if so, then that was the Paradigm/TA tent (Ie WHERE you should have been camping)
