Just create a new mono group track in Cubase, then direct the vst output to that group.

You're going to have a problem doing it this way. For some reason Cubase seems to double the input from the stereo vst to the mono channel. Do an A/B comparison and you'll hear the output you expect in stereo but when routed to the mono channel the output is way too loud and distorted.

Bets to arrange in stereo and then at mix time, render the stereo bass track to mono and import it as audio.

huhhhhhhhh it didnt work ??? I forgot to tell you i run my bassline from FlStudio using 16 channel ouputs !So the outputs from FL is ALWAYS in stereo !!! Well then what now i think i saw a plugin that can convert STEREO ---> MONO dont know the name though ? Hmm i think its time 4 reason to solve this problem tooo bad i cannot use my vst`s LIKE the oh so lovely FM7 and V-Station anyway.. ! :(

I don't know much about producing but if you are talking about realy low frequency I think it should be mono. Why is there only one subwoofer on audio systems? LOL

As simple as that.

Because sub bass is omnidirectional. Nothing to do with the stereo/mono debate.

Most club systems are completely mono, but you wouldn't mix your entire track down to mono, would you?
