yes... well, mainly just johnny depp as willy wonka.

Interestingly enough, I saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on Saturday and watched Clockwork Orange on Sunday at home and I'm confused about this parallel, too. Wonka is simply eccentric and has a misguided outlook on people/reality that stems in part from his isolation from normal human contact. Alex from Clockwork is simply ed up from the way his society is.

Also, I thought Wonka was likeable, whereas Alex from Clockwork isn't. You do pity both of them at points approaching the ends of the films because of their life's evolution, especially how Alex has become so helpless, but Kubrick changes that with the ending.

On a side note, does anyone remember how the novel Clockwork Orange that the film is based on ends? I read it a few years ago and remember the film adding material to the end.

Really great eyecandy. Watching it in IMAX is highly recommended. I thoroughly enjoyed the cast of children (Although I believe the older cast was better) as well as Depp as Wonka. Gene Wilder gave his version of Wonka (which I believe was PHENOMENAL) and now Johnny Depp his. I'm thoroughly impressed with them both but if I'd have to choose one, I'd go for Wilder.

Twisted movie but I really liked it. Johnny Depp is simply amazing....and yes he very well could have been a child molester in this movie....why did you think he wanted Charlie to come work in the factory all by himself.:haha:

He was also good in Donnie Brasco, The Ninth Gate, and From Hell, but Fear and Loathing is my favorite. The book is great, too. I'd like to see the Rum Diary, if they ever complete it.
