im a clutz so this list is gonna be long. ill try to do this in chronological order.
-fell 10 feet to concrete floor age 6, (they took out the basement staircase for renovations and i wanted to watch saturday morning cartoons... result 2 days in hospital for observation.
-hit in head with pice of shop vac cleaning wand age 7 pissed off the son of one of my dads co workers and he chucked it at me .... result 6 stitches to forhead
-torn ACL and MCL ligament in right knee age 11 skiing ... result two surguries and a seeming lifetime of aggravation
-used my face as a brake pad age 12, took a corner too fast going downhill on my bike, ended up sideways sliding across the pavement on my forearm and face.... i wanst beautiful for a few weeks after that one.... manage to escape the hospital this time
-stretched ACL ligament in left knee age 14 skiing ..... skiing out of bounds = bad idea.....
-dislocated patella age 16 went to dive onto teh stage in my highschool cafeteria, didnt pull my leg up high enough, needed another surguery to relocate it.
-chainsaw accident while cutting wood in bare feet (note this is a very bad idea and now i wear steel toed boots) saw went throught the dead rotted wood alot faster than expected and hit my right foot between the first and second toe cutting in about 2 inches before hitting a rock in the ground. result profuse bleeding and since i was up at the cottage, some redgreen style first aid until i could get to the first aid station in temagami... nice little scar there
-latest injury that i can think of was 3 years ago (age 20) i decided to do a chinese fire drill during a bus tour of ottawa for our eng frosh at carleton U (note that i was a facil at this time and supposed to be setting an example) well i jumped off the bus before it had stopped moving forwards, rolled on my ankle and severly streched a couple ligaments in my foot apparently as they couldnt get my shoe off at the hostpital and hat to cut it. had a purple foot for a couple weeks and was on crutches. ya well thats about it. ive been pretty much injury free as of late so im hoping my accident proneness has worn off... will keep you posted... |

oooh I am so glad that I made this thread! It makes me feel a lot better about my injuries and accident proneness haha.
Here's a few more of mine:
In grade 7 I was outside at school trying to be cool in front of everyone by sliding down an icy hill on my knees. I slid and got pushed somehow, and suddenly I couldn't get up. Well I forced my knees to bend so I could stand up...I went back to the top of the hill to do it all over again, but realised that the snow around me was red. then I looked at my socks and my right sock was red too! (It was originally white). And then I noticed my right pant leg was soaking in blood. Some people helped me walk inside, and I looked at my knee and I could see all the insides of it. lol obviously I was in shock because I couldn't feel it at that time. But anyways, because I checked my knee in the office, all the teachers were gagging and they didn't know what to do. So the principal drove me to the hospital and I had to get 13 stitches. I definitely still have a scar from that one!
I was skipping in school and broke my ankle lol.
I was at the wood shed and I somehow got my finger jammed between 2 pieces of wood. I guess the top piece was extra sharp at the edge, and it cut my finger to the bone. The strange thing is that it happened a few years ago, but that finger still hurts! Maybe it didn't heal properely? :conf:
I'm not even able to count how many times i have gone swimming and stepped on a clam or piece of glass, and had to get stitches on my foot. It hasn't happened this year yet....*knocks on wood*
My brother flung an elastic in my eye, and I couldn't see for a a couple days.
My mom slammed a door without realising my hand was in the doorway. I badly broke 4 fingers.
I accidentally stepped in a hornet's nest. Need I say more?
lol there's so many more things that have happened! I'll post them later when I remember them.

Here's another story of my personal head injuries:
2nd grade, 2 weeks before my birthday, had just gotten my adult teeth in the front of my mouth, when I decided playing on a brokem bike rack was a good idea. Fell off, having my mouth intercepted by the support beam 3" above the ground. Knocked out the majority of 2 of my teech and pushed one that was still on my jaw all the way back to the roof of my mouth. Was rushed to the dentist, where it was deemed I was too young to be put completely under for the surgery, so instead I had to endure 13 painful needles in various spot of my mouth. The dude patched up my mouth pretty good, but I will never forget the pain of him using his fist to pull the one tooth that was aligned with the roof of my mouth to pull it back in position.
I saw so many funky instruments that I've only seen once since when I got my wisdom teeth out, which most people don't remember because they're so heavily sedated by the time they break them out. My mom was present for the whole 6 hours worth of surgery, and she still tells the story to this day that I was in so much pain, the only was I could get thru it was to concentrate on how bad I had to go to the bathroom. The worst part about this story is that my b-day had to be delayed 4 weeks until the concrete on my teeth was removed, and even when my b-day came I wasn't allowed to eat any cake or have and candies. Worst birthday ever...
Seeing me go thru this surgery at age 8, inspired my mom to go back to the dentist, but she soon found out her own fear of them was too strong and now has to go to a dentist where they knock her out even just to clean her teeth.
Since the surgery, I've knocked out my caps a couple times due to high sticking infractions, and had to get the 'plaster' replaced on some of them after years of wear, which annoys me because after those years of wear, the plaster finally begins to feel like a real tooth. |

- bicycles and I don't mix...lots of falls when I was younger (still have some scars), I've fallen right in front of a streetcar once (the wheel got stuck in the tracks), I almost fell into the lake/pond in High Park (I went down the hill, the brakes gave out 1/2 way down)
- sprained ankle going down a slide
- got hit in the nose twice within a month while playing basketball (1st with an elbow, 2nd time with the basketball)
- when I was around 6 years old (+/- a year) I was rushed to a hospital, had my stomach pumped and spent a week or so there (apparently I swallowed 1.5 bottles of sleeping pills, it's weird cause I don't remember actually taking the pills, only playing around/watching TV and then waking up with people standing over me) |

In grade 1 a window was open during my class and a gust of wind rolled a pencil off my desk and it stabbed me in the foot.. no idea how it was so powerful.. but it was in there bad.. had to get a massive tetnis shot into my heel going in from the bottom of my foot... now needles mean nothing to me cause that was the worst shot i have ever had.. the immunizations you get now those needles are like 1/4 of the size of the one i had to get

I used to be really accident prone when i was younger, come to think of it i do hurt myself a lot still...
Anyway I have fallen off my bike and broken my jaw when i hit it off the curb, and a couple years before that i broke my elbow falling off the playground equipment at school. I am have also had a couple fairly bad burns, one in which i still have a scar. |

i was standing behind the truck for some reason, when my dad decided to start backing up. the next thing i remember i was standing beside my dads window with sand lodged in my nose and mouth, with the most ed up look on my face. it was a good thing our drive way was made of gravel cause if it was paved i thing i would have been done for. |
