It's a bit slow... but then again that's through the SD adapter.
Like other photo wallets, it has USB 2.0 connectivity (480mb/s), but it's nice to be able to transfer photos on the road without a computer, even if it is a bit slow. That's probably a better solution than USBOTG.
The buttons arn't nearly as good as the iPod's wheel, the interface takes some time to get used to, and image load times (full screen) could be better... but other than that, I recommend it. Awesome device.
I love using it as an external harddrive in WinXP (mass-storage device).
I have yet to watch a full length feature movie on it yet. I'll have to test that out soon. Apparantly it's picky with movie formats, but they provide converter software. The demo movie looked fine. |

I have yet to fill my 1 GB SD card, otherwise I would have run a proper test. |

Do you have to pay for PodCasts like normal tunes from iTunes?
I have always wondered this. Are podcasts available for other players, or is it strickly a iPod thing?
all the firmware for Archos players is open source right? I remember when they first started making mp3/media players, that was a big selling point. I never got one, because i just wanted something with top notch sound quality, hence my creative.
I wish i had more functionality now though. |

iTunes has really grown on me. As much as I absolutely *HATE* that it ALWAYS deletes any info in the ID3 v.2 tage and the will proceed to encode a load of numbers in the ID3 v.2 tags instead, I must say (other than that issue) I really enjoy iTunes now.
I can't stand EphPod or Pod*something* (forget the name of the other I used). And winamps aint bad, but I still think iTunes does a better job on the interface side.
I use iPodSync to update my contacts, calendar, notes, weather and movies listings onto my iPody, Gertie.
I *heart* my iPod.
I wanna test out the Podcasting... how expensive is it to buy, Cale?

I have the Creative Jukebox 3 Link
40gig model
Its huge, but i was going for recording features, and sound quality, in which, this player cannot be beat.
Its just annoying for enthusiasts, because creative is so tight about their firmware, and wont open it up. I know the player isnt that powerful(CPU), because it came out in 2002, but there are just little things here and there, which i wish i could change.
I got this before all these super tiny players came out on the market, and i will NEVER get an iPod, they can lick my balls. Creative has the best menu system on the market. And one of the only companies that allows you to make playlists on the fly...thats a huge thing in my book. If i were to get a new player, it would be a Creative, for that reason alone. |

Apple has significantly knocked creative around so much, that creative keeps trying to pump out more and more ipod knock offs. And if you want any add-ons iPod has the BIGGEST more DIVERSE amount of 3rd party attachments that extend what an iPod can do.
As for making playlists on the fly, isn't it that a little tedious on a hand held? |
