Judge 1:

"Cool 32 seconds of beats for dj mixing, the intro lead synth sounds too old school for me , but the whole groove is quite nice.
He didn't do anything new and/or special to the main melody except changing the synth, which I'm liking more that anyone else's , not the best he could have done tho. The background work is really nice, this is a pretty straight forward remix with some nice elements, and a decent sound".

Judge 2:

It's a little short I guess. And there's a skip early on in the mp3. Some very creative stuff with the melody which is great. Excellent array of sounds, a very professional production really, shame it isn't a minute or so longer (at the intro). Very dj friendly too. I'd have given it a 10 for arrangement if there was an extra minute in the intro.
This melody doesn't give a whole lot to work with, but this guy has used what it does give to the full. I feel that maybe he could have done some more to make it his own though. I can't fault the overall production (sound), so top marks there.

"Another one that just grabbed the MIDI and put it there changing the synth of the main melody and that is it, pretty boring, I didn't like it."

"Too much reverb used in this mix, the breakdown is beautiful, but the synth used for the melody is pretty annoying for my ears, so annoying it hurts, so I stopped there".

This guy really did everything that could be done with that melody. An amazing array of sfx, all very appropriate. A1 for structure/arrangement. The synths in this are generally very beautiful, it's a thoroughly enjoyable listen as a result. Maybe a tiny bit stretched though, it does get a little repeditive (but only a little).

Judge 1:

"Man, I like the oriental touch this guy added in the beginning of the track, percussions are great, stomping, crispy , solid, nice use of FX, very Dj Friendly, the bassline is cool, but I've witness better basslines in other remixes.
Nice use of supportive melodies , in this one the synth of the melody is not what I expected after hearing such great intro, I really thought this was going to be different from the other remixes, but the supportive melodies made it sound better than how it would sound solo.
This is a nice work overall".

This one sounds mint right from the start :) Very original ideas as regards melody, very pro stuff here.
This is "the trance sound" isn't it! I'd be very curious to know who this is, it's excellent production. This might well be my winner.

Ok, racking my brains trying to find a fault ... and I just can't find one. This is a superb production.
Of course it doesn't deserve full marks everywhere (it isn't perfect), but neither does it deserve to lose a mark. So full marks from me.

"I like how it starts from the background with filters , it gives an original touch to it, the percussions are out of place , the congas are out of place, since they give the remix a progressive/housy feel when I see clearly they are trying to make an uplifter.
The breakdown is very good, and til now , the most original track.
Because of the great breakdown it gives a high quality to the track in general, if it wasn't because the percussions are out of place, this would have been the perfect remix for me."

"He attempted to get lots of points of creativity with the guitar melody, but he totally forgot about the rest".

I give 8 for creativity , and 5 for the rest.

Judge 2:

0:54 I wonder has he inverted the phase on one channel of that bass? It sounds very original, but it totally wouldn't work in a mono environment. Same thing with the lead later on. I
2:00 love the rock elements :) 10/10 for imagination here.
He may have taken a little _too_ much artistic license with the melody. I love it, but I wonder would Yahel?

... right, I had to check that thing with the phase cancellation. I don't want to hit this guy with bad marks unfairly. It seems that he hasn't completely inverted the phase on one channel, but there is a certain amount of cancelling-out going on when you listen to it in mono. I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt I think, the problems could be fixed with proper mastering anyway.

9/10 for arrangement. He loses a mark coz he runs his melody quite late.
Very imaginative and creative production, so full marks for creativity.

"In this track you realize in the begining that it has master problems, too much high end, another guy who put the MIDI there and just changed the synth. The guitars are decent but the rest is pretty bad".

I give 5 to every area.

FINAL RESULTS CARD

Ok, First of all to each and every one of the participants for the interest on this 7th Edition (Not 8th like I was misinformed in the begining) of TA Remix competition.

So before getting started with revealing the names of the producers of each remix, let's start announcing the names of the Judges.

Judge 1: is myself, I must tell you I didn't check out the remixes until the last week of the deadline for the judges to submit their feedback, but I renamed them to "Remix #" as I was getting them.
So, there was no bias behaviour, or anything like that.

There were some good remixes, there were bad remixes, and that is all.

Judge 2: Is TA Poster "Bricky", you can check out his webpage , www.brickaloch.com, he is a great friend, a kind person, and know a lot on the technical aspects, thanks to his advices, I am were I am now.

Judge 3: is Massive84, he has been judge before, I think you all know him.

Judge 4: Is Kopi Luwak, who recently released his new album, good luck to our pal.

To all of them thanks very much for your help and time.

Now, when I announce the winner, everyone except the winner can start sharing their mixes if they want, or try to get them promoted by your fellow Djs, is all up to you.

The winner, if he wants his track to get released (or at least the possibility) he must not shared the track anywhere. He must PM me with the real name , artist name , so I can provide all this info to Yahel himself, and if possible a 320 Kbps MP3 version as well.

As for the other prizes, I'll pm him about it.

The names will be revealed in a few hours, since I have to do something, else, but do not worry, the announcement won't pass from today.

Cheers

I think i have a clue though, but you never know about the 5 remixes that hasn¨'t got any comments or rating yet.
And if this go strait for the toilet, i might change using Fruityloops into cubase or something.. hehe
